    The "3rd Ending" explained. *SPOILERS!*

    Taken from Wikepedia:

"If the player harvested a few of the Little Sisters but saved most of them, the ending is the same as if Jack harvested the Little Sisters except Dr. Tenenbaum's voice has a sadder tone than the original angry tone. This has come to be called the "3rd Ending" by most fans."

Just to clear up any confusion around here. Sorry if it has already been posted.

Sounds bogus to me... why would they make a 3rd ending which the only thing diffrent is the tone of someones voice? don't think it's real.

install rad games tools and just watch it, there are three ending movies on the pc version and you can hack them. there is a lot of hidden content including parts of the editor.

Yup, I've now had all 3 endings. Personally prefer Tenenbaum's 'sad' voice recording to the 'angry' one, it's much better paced and delivered.

I must not have ever gotten the bad ending then... She didn't sound angry at all! Oh well.

yup have to agree the sad voice works better

just made me realise how dumb i've been i now know why you unleash the splicers on the submarine... because its a nuclear sub (shows you a nuke at the very end) good ol jack wants to turn the world into rapture

as if i missed that duhhh

You were hungry for power in Rapture. You have a city full of science beyond a normal man's imagination. It has been built from 1940s materials and based on traditional science to produce startling new effects.

With a city like that, and a power-hungry character that sacrifices the innocent for his ambition, it's a fairly dramatic ending for him to have the possibility of nuclear power land in his lap.

finished my first try today on medium. got the sad voice bad ending. harvested one little sister, the first one, just to see how it was. Perhaps I'll finish the game all good one day.. i loved the game, but not enough to complete it one more time immediately. There are other games. And I've already seen the good ending on youtube.

With the splicers up on the surface at the end, it could only mean one thing: SEQUEL!! LOL!

  15. I personally think it's neat that the creators would pay such attention to detail, right down to the tone of a character's voice. And I will agree with the people who think the sad tone is better.

I think a subtle change like tone of voice is very suited to a game like bioshock. I'm going to play through and try some harvesting, I probably won't have the heart to kill them all. I liked the happy ending.

Like I said before about the endings:

The good ending left me with a warm, fuzzy feeling.

The bad ending left me craving a sequel.
