I'm taking one of my postings from another thread to deliver my point:
Bonuses should scale with the number of players already in the game and the year the game is in. I assume this will be very very difficult to code and balance properly, but there really needs to be done something about this issue. Currently there is just nothing that would make me want to join a game with more than 20 people in it when I want to play competitively.I once joined a game when it was 196/200 just to see the bonus resources to make up for joining late. It's +250 gold and +250 hammers. You start with the same amount of citizens and you also don't seem to get additional GPs either. That's way too little and needs to be adjusted accordingly.
When you join very late like I did in this game it could be for example 6 or 7 starting citizens, 3,500 - 4,000 hammers and ~10,000 gold to be able to buy 1-3 additional GP to make up for the lost time.
What do you think? This should of course be an addition to the long over-due removal of autojoining new games when you have no active ones.
