Loss of over 600 points after two losses.

I'm wondering if this ranking system is completely bunk.

I was around 1823 and now I'm at 1211 or so and completely at the bottom of the leaderboard. This happened literally within 5 minutes.

If you lose to certain individuals, can they contact the CivRev Gods and just screw up your score.

I've been playing a lot and this is the second time it has happened in the last two weeks. I've been in games that have locked up (I don't know why it does this) so perhaps the system thinks I'm disconnecting.


To go from a rank of about 130'th or so to 4600 after two losses is absolutely absurd and it makes not mathematical sense.

Does anyone know what's going on here?

I've never seen anything to make me think that certain players have the ability to torpedo your score. I really doubt that's the case.

The leaderboards have always been buggy. They mostly work on the xbox360, but sometimes we get random resets or the wrong number of points awarded/lost. Win a game, lose 30 points is a popular way to drop from the top 10. From what has been written repeatedly on this forums, the leaderboards are truly terrible on ps3.

You may find your points return magically to you after a couple more games, but probably not.

Yeah, it is on Xbox 360. It seems quite odd, as if I'm getting penalized for playing so much and moving up the board too quick. That's the only explanation I can think of. There are so many things wrong with this game, especially the multiplayer. Democracy glitch and Great Wall being useless come to mind. Also I noticed if you don't meet someone (they keep denying you a meeting) you don't see when they dunk great people or when they complete wonders.

I think that if you play games in rapid succession, that will contribute to your rank getting messed up. Give yourself a short breather between games and see if that helps.

Yeah, the meeting people thing is annoying. Best to just declare war asap, I think.

The game has been locking up a lot on me here lately. Every time I get both of my accounts around #4 or 5 they both end up getting locked up and knocked down to around 10 or worse. Really pisses me off because at this point with those 30 points lost each time this has happened I should have them both around 1 or 2.
