CivWorld posted it as an announcement when I logged in today. That's how I heard about it.

Oh, that's how... I'm not playing now so I didn't see the announcement. Thanks

I hope they provide details, how else are we supposed to know what's been changed? Excited none-the-less.

    Things I'd like to see:
    The chat is awful
Voyage of Discovery is completely messed up
Some way to make coordinating easier for Big Civs
    Try Golden Ages at 20%
Make Merchants useful, right now they are completely useless
Fertility Rites max should be tweaked higher I'm thinking, I've never seen a game where someone got over 18 population

Feel like I'm forgetting stuff, but that's good for now.

Make mini-wonders appear less often ... ONCE A DAY!

Just do something about the puny-civ-min-wonder and tech transfer abuses!

I love that there is the ability to have it where enough strategy, teamwork, and communication a 4 person civ can take on a 40 person civ, so I definitely hope that is not gone though

Not sure if anybody mentioned this before on previous threads, but I hope there's a way to let a person NOT be automatically set up in a game they don't want to be in once they've logged in not realizing that the previous game they were on had already ended. I'd like the option to be able to have a choice to join whichever available game there is where my friends could play in the same game.

I agree stai, but I'm pretty sure it's that way just for the Beta

I think, that Take2 isn't really interested in real communication with users, another time expressed by not publishing update details.
Or rather a developer diary, but that's unthinkable.

IMO a real beta test should include a Bug and Suggestion Subforum, where the users' requests were answered properly and the user has a feeling, that his thoughts and opinion are taken seriously.

But normally in this forum you won't get any reply of the developers. I hope in future it will get better.

If not, I can assure this game would be dead even before it starts...

    At the developers and moderators:

Take a look at Paradox Interactive. Their communication with their fans is FABULOUS, AWESOME.
That's one reason why I became such a devoted fan, and have patient if s.th. goes wrong.
Because I have faith, that they consider the thoughts of their fans and respect their wishes.

Try to improve your communication to such a level, Take2.
Your communication is like in pre-Internet-era, not even near the social-internet-era...

I revise my above mentioned opinion partly.

Maybe they read some of our posts...

But it would be good, if they had posted how long these login inconveniences would last.
And when we could expect login...

    By the way:
What are the developers thinking about some suggestions, we made?
A reply to every idea is not needed, but a described path for the future where this journey will go, would be good.

Beta is beta. Sometimes updates crash, have issues. It would be unreasonable to be told times, only to have major issues and a tester backlash. We are testing a game, so just even being able to see it first is a privilege.

I like the teamwork aspect and the market is amazing. Battles are boring, and largely ignored in the game I have been playing from the start. On the one note, in a 3 country dominant game, the 2 countries that fought lost major resources, while my team outside, took the opportunity to sell to both sides and become the most powerful state. Basically just reinforcing that the winners of war are the sides that stay out of it.

Merchants are useless. I had no idea great persons add 5% to production... I had to read it on the forum and then go into the civopedia. The whole communication process of what is happening to the player needs work, but I understand it is Beta. How do you win? What are winning conditions. Winning Eras is clear, winning the game is still a mystery to me. Game pace is a little fast for me. You can check in twice a day, and the game moves sometimes multiple era's in between times.

Gold drives me crazy. You can attack an empire, steal their tech and wonders, but not their gold. The game I am in, the 3rd empire, with 1/2 the players, just makes gold, with no consequence. Wonders can be remade, stolen. If a small rich country existed in real life, it would make sense for a large one to come in and raid, steal from them. Maybe there should be a second battle style, to pillage and steal just money, or a choice of going after the patent office (tech) or treasury (gold) or capital (maybe give penalties as country tries to regroup it's govt).

Not sold on battle system. I have only been a part of 1 battle, and it was pretty tame looking, and appeared to just have a mind of it's own. Would love interface stats, like troop casualties on both sides. Speaking of interface, how about a big splash page of "while you were away" when you log in... era x,y,z, your production, alerts like you need to pick a tech, you won this battle or lost, or there is one gonig. I can read the news, but you have to dissect it, why not just one nice to read page.

Well, that is my 2 cents. I like what I see mostly so far. I am excited for this game when it goes gold.
    Thanks!

I think the only time one can get some sort of feedback from the devs is at a convention. Maybe they are intimidated by the arguments that's going on in the games...lol. To the devs: Show some signs that you exist (besides the updates lol...) and put an end to some of the fights so we can rest in peace.
