Judgeing by the speed of the response to sectoid's "Machu Pintu on fire" question, this might not last unanswered very long.

I have not quite managed to knock out an enemy Great General. The coward is down to 3 HP and is running back to base.

How did I reduce him to 3 HP?

Maybe there are a lot of answers to this that I don't know about. In that case I'll learn something.

Let him run, AI does not heal it's own units anyway (as in let them stand still for a while and gradually heal up), he'll be back still almost dead charging blindly into your forces soon enough.
