diplomacy advice

hi, I've been playing civ 5 for a while now and every time I play through I end up having everryone hating me, it always says either "They think you are expanding too agressively" or "Thery think you're truing to win the game in a similar way to them, and they dont like it!" I dont know whats wrong!

PS Does using nukes affect your diplomacy with everyone?

It would seem you have 2 diplomatic choices.
Sit in a corner and do nothing, everyone loves you but eventually someone will come crush you as you are weak and vulnerable
Or
Actually try to play the game and win and assume everyone will eventually hate you for some reason, no matter how nice you are to them as you will eventually do something they don't like and dislikes always outweigh like as there are plenty of ways for them to dislike you and get minus points in diplomacy and very few ways to gain plus points in diplomacy and stay friends.

Expanding too aggressively is pretty obvious; if you're playing a conquest style, people aren't going to like you very much. But you can sometimes make people continue to like you by allying/trading with them early and then keeping that up as you begin your path of conquest. It's easier to keep someone friendly than to recover from them not liking you.
