So, when can we expect the demo to get released?
So, when can we expect the demo to get released?
When Gearbox makes an official announcement. First Access Club members get it first, then the public at a later date.
The Dukenator is right - keep your eyes on Duke, Gearbox, or 2K channels and you'll get all the news as soon as it's available.
I just got an email asking me to update my console preference for DNF FAC. So I have no idea what that means. But seriously, its Duke, do you really need a demo?
Doesn't matter whether we need one or not. At this point Gearbox needs to release one.
Since the game is coming up real soon now, I wonder just how exclusive the demo access will be for First Access members. Are we only going to get it for like a weekend early? That'd be lame.
They'll be evil and release the public demo after DNF is out.
i was preparing to my self .... it's probably going to be one week delay , just for the "cheery on the cake" , to spice it a bit more muhahahaha
Speaking of FAC, why don't we get a FAC code for a Steam pre-order?
(already ordered via steam, not going to the stores as I don't care for the ones around here in canuckistan)

So, when does the demo come out for everybody else?
More than likely after launch there will be a public release.. however as mentioned above "I don't have any other announcements beyond that."
Public demo should not be necessary. It's Duke Nukem Forever. If you don't know what it is by now, your either dead, or catholic.
All games should have demos no matter how known they are. Even if you know everything about it some people still want to try things out first before they buy it.
Really that seems illogical, since anyone can have the demo re-launch buy buying borderlands GOTY, or a pre-order. Also media outlets have access and can write good or bad things about the game.
Although I am not crazy about the idea of a demo as a "bonus" I don't think that is the reason. Also they have had many hands on gameplay events open to just about anyone.
I have waited for this game for 13 years another week wont hurt.
Some people WERE disappointed with Portal 2. So yeah. It's still valid. For some people this may not turn out to be the game they were hoping for. Whether it gets a largely good response or not. It's just good sense and fair all around to put out a demo. No game company is guaranteed to put out a great game every single time. And no game company can really predict how well their game will do whether they think it's good enough or not (look at Minecraft!).
i cant wait for june 3rd ,,so soon
After 15 years of waiting id have liked them to release the demo to everyone before the game is out, releasing it only to people who pay first is a pretty poor tact especially given this games track record and the wait many people have had for it.
Years of WID only to be told....and btw you cant have a demo unless you pay for it...meh, bad karma.
Your not paying for the demo, you are pre-ordering the game. Which if you are buying the game anyway should not be that hard to do.. and if for whatever reason you do not like the demo you can cancel your preorder..
I find this whole discussion fascinating. We know a demo exists and that it will be available to faithful fans who have preordered and to some others (Borderlands GOTY, etc). And it stands to reason that it will eventually be made available to everyone. So anyone upset over the lack of a widespread, pre-release demo is someone who wants to buy the game right away....but doesn't want to pre-order it?![]()
I can't imagine them holding a demo back any longer than necessary. And "necessary" means "long enough to reward the First Access members by giving them first crack at it."
Honestly, I can't do anything but smile when I think about Duke finally going gold. Everything else....man, it's just noise.![]()
This thread is so strange... Why do people think game will no longer be for sale after its release date? I am very confident that this game will be for sale for a very long time at many retail outlets... I am guessing a year or more easily.
I could understand a Demo for the purpose of performance testing, especially on PC's because their hardware varies... or if you aren't sure which platform you want it on, but this whole "before the games release" is not relevant as Duke Nukem Forever will be for sale after its release date. <?> This would really only apply if it was someone wanting Balls of Steel and has all three platforms pre-ordered with the intention of cancelling two of them.
I think it is safe to say that most any gamer looks up Demos of games AFTER the games release date and decides if they want to buy the game. I have bought games years after its release due to demos. Due to the massive use of video recording systems today, it is safe to say that TONS of game-play will be available for viewing in minutes after the game is out anyway... I rely on this more so than Demos personally, but to each his own.

I really don't understand the point of a limited demo in any form, and it's not really a pre order incentive...
not that it's really an issue, I have no intention of ordering online but it only takes a minute to get a code.
Well, it doesn't matter. I'll wait for the demo first before I buy. I've waited that long so waiting another 1-2 weeks longer makes no difference anymore.
I don't suppose there is a specific time I should be looking for the demo is there?
Well the Gearbox forums are back up claiming its out? Not sure if thats the case as it still says in First Access that Access codes will be here when available.
Time to start holding your breath, guys, because it's that soon!
