Civ Lag

Hello, let me start off by saying this is my 4th civ I have played ( Civ III, Civ III Conquest, Civ IV and Civ V) and I have never had this much lag in game. It's at its best at the start of the game, which is still laggy and near unplayable at the future era. Is there something I can in the game options to make it run easier? I do not have the money/ space for a desktop and am playing it on a laptop. It had enough memory and I'm pretty sure the graphics card is good.

Can you post your dxdiag? Also, what graphics settings do you currently have for the game? What is your game setup (how many civs, what size map, etc)?

Unfortunately, mobile GPUs are always weaker than the desktop GPU they share a number with. (So a GTX 485M is more like a desktop GTX 460. A GTX 460M is more like a desktop GT 440.) But with the right settings you can possibly get it to look good and play somewhat smoother.
