Darkness And War Theme

Hello. I have to be honest with you gamers. At first. From old screenshots. Darkness looked only like a cartoony like super villian/hero game. Then after new trailers on Xbox360 and PS3. I took interest again. But to be very honest. The whole new world. War Theme. It doesnt ruins it for me. Its like an after thought. Its nothing really creative. I am not saying Darkness is a Clone. But to me its for example. Like Duke Forever production. There put to much into it, to much themes. For a start. The Mafia theme. Mafia is a very organized business, group. They do things a certain way. There not just your gangs in grand theft auto. Mafia is a very proffesional busines. Violent. But organized. Where the demon theme. Is to random, not organized. Just to run and gun. Where mafia is more smart. And take out people in a business like way. Then you have the War theme. Now I dont know about you. But I will cry if I see another war based game, or even horror based war game. Wolfenstein, Doom, Quake, Resistance, Halo, Gears of war. To many war games. Or like military or tactical games meets aliens or demons.

Keep in mind. The biggest thing of all. The game is from a Comic. Comicx have old ideas. In other words. They have old story, ideas. Already been and done now. So maybe for a comic its new. But for a game. Its been done zillion times over that type of story, them. Like having a other world. Its like Oblivion Gates in Oblivion. I would of loved Oblivion more than other games. To me the side quests where the best. But to me the Oblivion Gates where boring, un original, a after thought. And those ruined it for me. Which I am afraid this other world will do. Shooting german soldiers doesnt seem like fun. Its one thing to have a mafia theme, turned horror demon theme, but then turned war other world theme. Its just to much jammed into one game.

All you guys are like gun go. Yeah yeah. Finally a violent game. last violent game we truly played was manhunt or condemned or soldier of fortune. Finally blood and guts. As my other post. I am all for adult games. But I want a adult game with depth. Not just violence for the sake of it.

Your all like deers in the headlights. Just seeing Riddick, Blood and guts. Thats all. Your not looking at the whole picture. Seperate it. Sure. Darkness just as a horror game works, even take out the demons, and just have a cool mafia shooter, that may even work like a max payne theme to mafia. But all mixed.

I am still on the fence about this game. But I think its just to random, bixed. Darkness theme without the stealtlh. Mafia theme without the organization. Demon theme without actual demon world, you have war world. War theme been done to many times.

As I said. The only way they can save face. And make this upto gamers. Or show gamers what this game is or is not. Is a demo. Until then. We are all in the dark.

hmmm if you don't like the theme of the entire game how will a demo help you? And furthermore, and I mean no offense, it is a little strange that you care so very much about a demo less then two weeks before the games release. No matter how much you critisize 2k they can't put out a demo if they don't have one ready. I mean it's the real world, people lie about alot of things, sometimes it's demos which isn't that bad in the grand scheme of things. I mean just look at the war in Iraq. The people were lied to about weapons of mass destruction, then lied to about how Iraq was somehow tied to 911, and in the end, no on really cared. Just think about the drastic difference between those two scenarios. Bottom line, no Demo for us.

It seems to me that he is very young, he still has that attitude that if you complain about something enough people will cave in and that only happens with your parents (theres that and his overuse of periods) . Because when you get older and live in the real world you realize that almost no one gives a crap. So this is probably some kid who wants a demo really bad. So try and be patient with him. If anything he seems like a nice enough kid

your kidding right? the otherworld actually looks messed up. i was mildly interested in the game, but i was worried just fighting mafia would get repetitive, then i saw that otherworld place, i've never been able to picture hell, until i saw that, the crucified angels, the never-ending war, the undying soldiers, it actually looks like an original view on hell.
there is only one other thing i want to fight in this game, SWAT teams, make them highly trained and aggressive like F.E.A.R., but just to mix it up, give them a flashlight attached to their mp5s, i think that would be cool and provide a good challenge.

You do fight swat teams, at one point Jackie is in a restaurant and a swat car smashes through the wall swat rushes out, he takes them out, goes outside and there are cop cars surrounding the restaurant and a huge battle ensues. It is in a video somewhere on gametrialers.

kick ass, i just hope the A.I. is good, and i just think it would be cool if towards the late game so enemies try to use light against you.

I like how the one guy just blew up on the TC. I wish the Demo was out too, but at this point I'm just running with what it gets. I'm waiting 2 days past my pre-order, and if it bombs, then I'll move on.
