    Please remove broken achievements

Thanks for removing 12 of the 14 broken achievements, please remove the last two ones that still are broken (or fix them).

    Model of Major General
--Train all units across any number of playthroughs
(Tested, still broken. Before the log files stopped showing up Lancers were the only thing not given credit for. Built like 3 of them post patch with no unlock.)

    Tomb Raider

--Plunder an Egyptian city with a burial tomb in it
(All Culture buildings destroys when conquer but no achievement)

If they were going to remove them, they would have removed them with the others ... they're going to fix them it seems, but that requires a patch because your achieving them is stored locally. We might see a hotfix soon, or you might have to wait until the next patch (end of this month?).

You've heard about the next patch?
Where'd you read about it? Where's your source?
Do you work for Firaxis and that's why you're in the know?
    What's included???

Wait a minute.... What makes you so special? How would you know about a patch? ARe you just stringing us all along, me especially?

I really get peeved when Fanboi's do this....The devs...couldn't program ....paper bag....they don't care about us....blah blah blah

Just to set the record straight - I'm not serious about anything I've written above I just wanted to jump the gun and get it all said before someone feels the need to seriously post those things.
    Peace.

Slightly unrelated, but a dev blurbed that a "wait until healed" function for aircraft is coming in the next patch. Outside of that, however, no mention of a patch or what will be in it has been made public.

My opinion is they are not done with DLC, and the pattern so far is that each DLC will release at the same time as a patch (which makes sense anyway). Plus, the note before the March patch change list made it sound like they want to change a few things still like diplo and combat balance. So I don't think there's really any doubt that we'll see another one.

Rather than remove those broken achievements I'd prefer they fix them. Especially the Magellan one or what ever it's called.
The Polynesians definitely have a huge edge up on getting the in-game bonus once they fix it.

I'm going to guess you got the game in January.

Also, they really need to fix the achievements, and bring back those broken ones.

    Lightbulb

I have a slightly different request: Please remove the five achievements I haven't actually earned (yet).

Beware when loading someone else's saved game because, in Steam's eyes, you're liable to garner achievements undeservedly.

    Sincerely,
    Honest Bamm

Correct , I play Civ IV and Civ V HOF. Achievement's is just bonus, but it's annoying if they don't work...

I have done everything necessary to unlock this achievement...

    Conquest of the World
As Alexander, defeat every known player by 350 BC.

... and of course nothing happened.

Any ideas? Do they mean human players or computer players? Does it even matter?

It means every other civ, not city states, if they are using the terms as they usually use them. Of course, if they're using them as the API in the game uses them, it would include city states... and the barbarians...

I initially had trouble with this too.

I thought OK, do a Duel Map. Rushed them successfully and grabbed their capital about 500 BC. No achievement.

It seems to me that the code to test this achievement runs at 350BC - i.e. when you get to 350BC it checks whether you have qualified for this achievement. But if the game ends before 350BC that code never gets to run.

So I modified it to a Continents game with 3 players. So long as I get a map with precisely one AI on the same continent I can rush again, knock my neighbour out before 350BC and then play on until 350BC to get the achievement (so long as I don't meet the remaining AI!).

I've gotten this one a long time ago, and I didn't seem to have any unusual problems getting it. Though, you have to COMPLETELY destroy your opponents. Taking their capital isn't enough; you must wipe them out completely. If you happen to "win" the game first, you can still get the achievement afterwards so long as its still before 350 BC.

yeah i got the Alex one by accident... you only have to completely eliminate Met players. So just don't explore too much before 350 BC and wipe out your nearest neighbor.
