    Gaining experience points

I just started a new game using the Mediterranean scenario and I'm up to around turn 110 but my units will not get more than 30 XP now. I've been wiping out barbarians as no other civ is close enough to me yet. Its the same with Warriors, Scouts and Archers. Is there a limit to how much XP can be gained against barbarians?

Maybe I should attack another civ or CS and see if they get XP then?

    Thoughts anyone?

    Thanks in advance.

Yes, there is an XP limit from killing barbarians

It doesn't say this anywhere in the game that I can find, but from my experience there is, and there also was in civ 4.

The limit to gaining XP from barbarians is 30. It's in GlobalDefines.xml if you want to change the value for all your games (search for lines about barbarians, one of them will be about XP) or you could make a simple mod that increases the XP you can earn from barbarians. A number of (combo) mods already do this, but sometimes you might not want everything the mod does.

(Actually, since I've been re-creating a number of mods so that I could get just parts of them, or to get it compatible with the patch, I'd be happy to make a vanilla "barbarian XP mod" and share it with you, if that's not already on the modhub.)
