Cultural radiation: Critically missing piece?
I love Civ V. I've logged 232 hours (yikes!), and still having fun.
But it occurred to me that "cultural radiation" is missing in Civ 5.
Cutural radiation was how a city's culture output could cause borders to shift. In some cases, you could peacefully "conquer" nearby cities.
Any opinions on this? Was cultural radiation a good thing, or are you glad it is gone?
I was fine with the Civ 4 system of "[x city] is rightfully asking to join the [y] Empire"; you could deny the request and station military units at the city in question to counter the culturally dominant civilization's influence. I was not fine with the Civ 3 system, where cities flipped at the drop of a hat without any warning or recourse aside from outright war.
