    Problem installing patch

Anybody else having a problem installing the patch?

Downloaded just fine, but when I go to launch the game a window pops up saying that it's installing the patch. It gets to 1%, pauses for a few seconds, and then says the installation was incomplete. I think (10) is the error code.

Are the servers busy or something? That interferes with installation TOO?

    EDIT:

    Incomplete Installation (10)
Steam servers are busy. Please try again later.
Nevermind, I just loooked it up and confirmed it. Ugh, bummer...

    How I fixed it:
On the Steam client go to Steam > Settings > Downloads+Cloud
Then change download region to London - UK
    Restart Steam
Now I am able to complete installation and play the game

What kind of crap is now this? I bought the game and now I can't play it? That's what you get when you buy games these days...

This is why Steam sucks big time. Now for a game we bought, we can't even play or have trouble playing.

I am sorry, 2K you have made a big mistake here. When you tell me Steam is suppose to make my patching experiance easier, you are wrong. You either lied to us about being easier or you just made a mistake and is wrong.

Please do something where we don't need Steam to update. I can't be bothered to play Civ V now. I stopped playing, I come back, and I get this aggrivation? I am sorry, this just adds salt to the wound.

Thanks liekynes, I will try this. We shouldn't have to do this though, this is not making my patching experiance easier.

Try restarting Steam. That usually fixes the issue you are seeing.
