Do I *HAVE* to adopt LS's?

So I just finished Paupers Drop without getting into a fight with a Big Daddy or adopting/saving/harvesting a Little Sister. I now have the option to continue to the next level, the game reminded me that I didn't gather any adam, but really, I've fallen in love with the shotgun, like almost in any fps game, and blasted my way through the whole level and I'm sure that I don't need any more adam, except if I have to have to get some upgrade to get trhough some barrier, as with the frozen door at the end of the previous level. So do I *HAVE* to go through the fighting the big daddies, using the little sisters and then rescuing/harvesting them thing all the time, or can I just continue and finish the game while skipping this? Also, I understand that this game has multiple endings like the first one, will not saving the little sisters have any negative effect on the ending? If I want a good ending, do I HAVE to save every little sister I encounter or does the saving only count once I have adopted them?
I just bought the game and wanted a quick play through, but I'm sure I will play it a few more times as I really like it thus far, so probably next time I will do the little sister thing fully, but right now I just want to go on. Is not rescuing the little sisters gonna give me a neutral ending? If so, I could play for real next for the good ending and then for the bad ending. Thnx.

I can't imagine playing Bioshock 2 without doing the gathers, and then the Big Sister encounters that are triggered once you've dealt with the 2 or 3 Little Sisters on a given level.

To each his own of course but to me it would seem like getting a sports car with a big V-8 block and deciding to shut down 4 of those cylinders.

I just started a new game and this time I won't gather or spend adam for anything. Might be interesting.

I think it's best to adopt the Little Sisters or at least rescue them because then you get other Plasmids as gifts and extra Adam from Big Sister fights.
being able to duel-wield Plasmids and weapons allow greater strategic options, and yea you can just spam one weapon over and over again but then you don't to experience other cool things, such as being able to lift a guy when he's frozen and throw him into the wall making pieces fly all over the place.

That's right, I believe there are only really 4 Sisters you have to "Deal with."
One of them early on, the first Sister you encounter, you have to adopt.
The other three that you were expected to "deal with" at Dionysus Park, you may be able to harvest them before adopting them.
Either way, you have to do SOMETHING with them.
