Spec Ops may be next year?

Given that we've heard relatively little about Spec Ops since the beta ended, this following joystick article may shed a light on why: http://www.joystiq.com/2011/02/08/xc...payne-3-not-l/ ((Lovingly lifted from podtech115 on the XCOM boards))

Not too sure what to think. The fiscal year is pretty big and it could be this fall, but we were saying that last year when they said fiscal year 2011 too. We'll have to see.

I dislike rushed games as much if not more than waiting for them, and I stopped being worried about "delays" years ago, there are usually plenty of good games to fill the gap, got the impression a while back it might not be out till 2012.

I agree. From the relatively little amount of info we've had about the main story, I really would rather it wasn't rushed rather than it was. If it's going to be as "open choice" as I would like it to be then I think it needs as much time as it needs.

Im soo tired of this fiscal year bullcrap, 2k and yager need to make a date and shoot for it. If they cant make that date then push it back, people will understand that they need more time and if they don't, then they will get over it.

Technically Spec Ops never had an exact date. It was just stated as "fiscal year 2011"

most of the problems with conflicting/wrong dates are caused by websites and stores who will swear blind they get the dates from publishers, but just make them up, most if not all are guilty of it.

If i see an estimate of Fiscal 20XX I always assume it'll be the year after anyway

I really don't mind waitingn for a quality game, but it's been soooo long since I heard anything about Spec Ops, I'm wondering if it still exists at all..

Same with Xcom, which I am at least as excited about if not more so..

    Are these games alive??

This game is going to get lost in the mix of all the great releases coming out this year, if anything that has more to do with it's delay than anything, what could worse for Sec ops if it releases at the same time as GTA V.

they are very different animals, am sure no one wants a release within a few days/weeks of a GTA but a release a month later/earlier wouldn't hurt imo.
