Never run in to it personally. Hardly anyone wears a mic in my games. When they do, it's teammates. So I guess all this must take place in the lobby? Guess I've been fortunate to miss all that. Then again, I don't play with the regulars much.

I'm getting to were I just hang around and do my best. Set some in game goals and see if I can achieve them. Like my current goal is to get skilled with geyser traps.
I'll admit, I'm one of those people that somewhat needs to win. The excuses, "well, it was against that One guy," or, "I just want to win this One game," comes into play and only adds to my addiction to win. Also, being the competitive person I am doesn't help me but, it's all about self control. I mean, once you've won the match, you don't feel any different as a person. Playing with friends usually calms nervous actions but, never seems to completely solve the problem.
Why should people get worked up over matches where one team used telekenesis and the other used Grenades? I read an article a couple days ago from my english text book that talked about why competition brings most of our bad traits out and leads to unhealthy actions and disagreed with it's thesis thinking competition is something that we thrive off of to be a market society. Thinking about it, I now rethought it and believe the author had his best intentions writing it. Look at what competition can do in a cyber Video Game? Think of the destruction that competition can bring to the live communities and nation without control.
Anger also comes into play and, without control, can lead to such relentless and renowned trash talking and/or verbose superiority talking. With anger, some, including myself, have short fuses that just need to be stopped at the beginning before it explodes from the TNT impact. Also, I've heard from many others, including myself, that we buy video games in general to have fun so, why and where does competition come into play? Is it anger, competitive side, or plain arrogant cyber superiority? With a dwindling bio community we know most of the regular playing players and still find fault in their camping, suiciding, or T-Bags in unexpected places which only leads to hatred for one another. Secretly, I find that giving up your arrogance and apologizing or blocking their vulgar words makes me feel like the most Bad ass person on Bio.

Oh I get harassed by the stackers over their mics every time I am in a lobby (because they know I can't talk back). They make fun of me saying I will quit if I don't stay. Of course I stay and take them all on in the match and then they RQ the match if they are losing.

I'm generally pretty reserved. I've probably started 100 PMs that I haven't hit send on. Had I sent them, maybe people would talk trash to me, I don't know. But I generally think long and hard about whether the PM is worth it. There are times it is and I will send it. But many times, it's just an impulse, and I think better of it.

@LittleLak: I myself get into those moods where all I want to do is win. Those days when I need that little boost of confidence that whatever I'm doing is working. My thing is those who get bent out of shape when it comes to winning. There are good winner and bad winner. In that private match we were in, you erked me at a few points. However I have respect for your skill as I am still a noob in this game (hour/skill wise). I got you what once or twice? I attribute those kills to sheer luck. I do understand were your coming from. Sometimes I let my mean streak get me in a mood to just piss anyone off. Which often leads to host drops and a lot of nade spam.

@Slowdive: That must happen in the matches that I'm not in with you. I've only been in one where someone was trash talking you. Then I've been in that match where you got that weird pm.

By the way, Was wondering if anyone would want to do a 1v1 with me? I love the thrill of the heat of the moment and yes, it brings out a more competitive side but, sometimes it helps me win. 1v1's are so much fun sometimes because you can actually plan out each step and expect what is coming fairly easily. So, if anyone wants a somewhat of a challenge from me then, hit me up on PSN.

Yayyy! : D lol. I'm glad you have fun, it should always be that way.. at least, for the most part. There's also fun in getting all into a match and successfully feeling like you won! Even if you don't actually win the match.
I hope we have some more private matches very soon!
& i love sneaking up on teammates and shooting at them and scaring them.. lmao. Especially to Venom! XD
plus smacking teammates is funnn esp cause of the sound it makes, lol.

Out of my 160 hours of playing Bioshock, I have been challenged only once to a 1vs1. And I tied that one. (15 to 15) Even though my opponent was host and stunshotting

I feel like a hypocrite for what I stated in an earlier post. I did 1vs1 Littlelak for fun. In the beginning I was doing very well, 3 kills right off the bat. Then it went down hill from there. We did it for fun and not to prove any point. I'd do it again if it's just a fun match and not something serious. I guess my problem with 1vs1 is if there is some point to be made. I do appriciate the tips I got after that match. I think I may experiment with the cb/eb combo for a while. I never really use it because I hate it done to me. However I did mess around after that match with it and realize why so many use it. It take a lot of work out of getting a kill. Guess I'll be zapping people for a while. I'm still going to have 1 dedicated nade loadout.

We'll see about that when I get on again. Might be a way to get good at it without the stress of an actual match (for fun and skill training). One thing I notice from when I first started practicing head shot (before rebirth) is that I always aimed at the head. Now I kind of roll up from chest level to the head when their stunned. Seems to work a whole lot better, plus the tips you gave me Littlelak help to.

LoL, too late. If you were in-sinuating that I box spammed then, you are mistaken. Lately, I've tried not to and found that it adds the spice back into the game, since I've played most loadouts and am not trying to build my variety. Starting to actually get back into the hang of no stuns again. Also, I have to be prepped before I make my Head Shot montage so that you guys don't tear me apart for box spam in the video XD

I'd recommend getting used to the elephant gun... IMO, a more efficient weapon than the crossbow, but benefits less from auto-aim. Let me know sometime if you want to do a bit of practice in a private match.

Last night you did use crossbow on me, but I've come to know the sound difference between rate of fire crossbow and boxspammed damage increase. Your shots were timed with the reset of the weapon. Half the time you missed me with it, not the shotgun and nailgun though. I know one thing you make me hate Houdini. I think that the reason you got me so much. Spooking me

Still all in all it was a good match.

I think my hard reset lost your name on my friends lost BB (stupid thing locks up and drops people sometimes). If I'm not on your friends list send me another request. I'm not to comfortable with the elephant gun, feels like I'm looking down a broom handle. Perhaps I should give it a go. Considering it would empty a tonic slot. Man, you people are going to have me in sniper mode if you keep going. Sick of me and my grenade launcher?

Ahem, you know you have 2 of the best EG users in the game on your friends list already, right?

That's right I said it. I am one of the best no stun , no aim assist, EG users on PS3.

I actually have quite a few EG and CB users on my friends list. I count on you in a lot of matches to keep me a my GL alive. Saved my butt last weekend a few times. I think those matches we took turns. I think I know the real reason I use the grenade launcher, I like seeing people fly through the air. Nothing like launching someone across the screen with a grenade. Well, it's on the back burner for a while.

I the best grenader in bioshock Here's why...
    1)don't rez suicide.
    2)I aim the thing.
3)I know when to use it and when to not.(for the most part)

I'm not taking myself seriously with this list.

I use the EG on my alt account since I'm nowhere close to level 34 yet. I do quite well with it in some matches (especially when hosting). Other games I can't seem to hit the broad side of a barn. But when you are on with that thing, man it is a powerful weapon. With it's firing speed and lack of need for a stun to get a OSK, you can tear in to a group and come away with a 5 second kill streak. I love to use it on that rare occasion I am hosting, or in non-laggy matches. I think the low level of my alt really allows me to catch people off guard with it too.

I agree completely, the only reason I got away from using it recently is because it is too slow against CB spammers.

If you have just started using the crossbow a couple tips i could give you would to be:

    - as soon as you shock someone, stop moving and take time to aim your shot, headshotting while moving takes a bit more time before it becomes comfortable (for people who haven't headshot before). If you stand still you'll have a better chance of hitting the shot.

    - I would start off with the elephant gun. thats the first HS weapon i used for a while, chances are distance shots aren't going to come that easy for people just starting to use the crossbow and EG is a good up close weapon

    - have a reliable secondary weapon that can get kills easily by itself, a lot of times you'll probably find yourself in a bind and needing time to reload but if you try = death. having a reliable secondary is critical to being a HSer

TBH, especially on xbox, I often found strafing (if crosshair on the right height of course) even easier to go for a (head)shot on the enemy..Is it just me or can anybody else confirm that?

strafing is indeed easier, but most veterans strafe because they have done so before. New players might over compensate. Despite all the hate and skillessness attributed to Hsing, there is an art to it

I've been using a technique I call a Roll Up. In which I keep the cross hairs about chest level. When I shock them I just roll it up to head level for the shot. Seems to work well so far. I tried the EG and really don't like it. Still might be worth working more with, since I hardly ever use it.

@BrutalXBarbie: You need to get on more, I haven't played a match with you in a dogs age.

Same can be said about the GL. Although it's hated, a good GL user will aim the weapon by watching the movements of their target. A spammer just fire's nades in hopes of hitting someone. Strafing is something I need to get better at.

The thing with your technique, you'll lose the race to a good HSer. They key is to ALWAYS have the cursor already at head level. Then all you need to do is either slide left or right (if you aren't comfortable yet) or move the cursor left or right. You meanwhile will be doing that PLUS trying to raise your cursor. You'll never get a shot off.

As for the EG, way more skill required than with the CB. The more I play with the CB, the more I see the effect of the aim assist. You don't get that with the EG. You truly have to nail them in the head to get the HS kill. It can be an effective CLOSE IN weapon believe it or not. While I think it was designed for long range, almost as a sniper weapon, close in, it is much easier to target the head of the enemy. So I think a good secondary for the CB is the EG. If you miss your stun shot, switch to the EG and pop them close up. Plus, one fully charged incinerate and one EG blast will take a player down if they don't AD or find water.

Maybe make a loadout with the EG as a secondary weapon and wait until you have host, or know you have a really good connection and a good host. Then break out the EG, treat it almost like a sawed off shotty, and give it a real go. You might find you like it. Oh, and no HH required, so you can add it to any loadout.

Thanks for the advice, I've considered going straight into no stuns and just skip the zap and tap stage. Sure I'll die more but it's a hard knocks Rapture out there. I never liked having to set up my shots (one of the reason I use the GL so much). I'd rather just aim and fire. Using the geyser bolts and extra kills same with turrets.

Sometimes, you should just go for body shots as well when you miss the head shot twice or so.

That's the only real difference I can tell between the CB and EG is the speed. The EG can be used as an alternative shotgun. I think it takes 3 shots to kill someone (body shot). With the CB it's the same, if your going for body shots then rof would be better. I've toy'd around with EG damage increase a few times. Mostly to weaken people for a good gl body shot. Maybe if I treated the EB like the pistol it might make the transition easier. Both have that kick back.

To Bee users: "What, you can't kill me unless I'm blind?!"

To Rez users I melee: "How's that Rez working out for you?"

To stackers: "Can't win without your little friends, huh?"

Not that I'm trying to defend or deny newb-stomping, BUT as a habitual team-player I must say it usually plays out like this...

When playing in a party with friends, sometimes you find a lobby of equal ranks (or even skill level) but not all of your team makes it into the lobby... back out, pick up the stragglers, enter a public lobby again... This time, it's just your party, so you wait... and wait... ...eventually some players start showing up... the high-rank players that show up leave promptly when they see your team... wait a bit more... FINALLY a match is starting, but.. aawww... it's all scrubs, then the one higher rank player on the other team leaves before the match starts (because it was him + scrubs against an organized team), so it's back to waiting... Then a match FINALLY actually starts, but it's literally ALL scrubs. after all that time and effort to play a match as a team with your friends, would you leave to start the process over again in hopes of getting an equal team match just because the enemy team wasn't equal rank/skill? It's not like the matchmaker is all that much more fair in most lobbies full of randoms. If I had a nickel for every lobby I joined by myself where it put me on the team with all the other high-ranks, leaving the lower ranks all on the other team... I'd have a ☺☺☺☺-load of nickels...

Sometimes you get what you're given... and after all that time spent waiting, you're just happy to get to shoot a somebody.

Exactly. I have the most fun playing against people my own skill level. There is nothing fun or sporting about shooting fish in a barrel.

TRUE. Pure stomping isn't very much fun... But, I personally hate playing against my friends that I normally team with... Just me speaking, but it's frustrating when they know every move you're gonna make lol. I don't mind going against equals, but if it's more than one player on the enemy team that knows every aspect of how you play... that's a slightly different story... newer players may not be able to identify with my situation :\

Like I said earlier, I'm not trying to defend team-stacking... just trying to explain my perception of it from the team-side...
