Since MS is down and with it the thread for Capone errors, I'll just ask on here instead. How do I resolve the "Can not find Mafia registry tree" I get when trying to open Capone? It's in my directory, so it shouldn't be that.
You know the Mafia World Editor is much better, right? Anyway, I never used Capone, so sorry, I won't be of much help.

They're tools used for modding. I got into modding M1 a few months before M2 to keep me busy. Using the World Editor, DCED, and BScriptView, I sort of made my own version of freeride, adding cars in parking lots, people chatting and smoking in alleys or on the streets, and a huge Empire State-like building in the middle of Central Island. I was thinking of releasing it and entitling it "The Streets of Lost Heaven Mod", but then I found out that name had already been taken.
If you still have it. You should release itCall it something original and then put it out there. In these desperate times we need more Mafia 1 mods to keep the games slowly dieing flame from going out completely

Thanks for the input, but if I remember correctly it was nowhere close to being finished. Orginally I had plans for street gangs, rackets, side quests, etc. The goal would be to gain leverage over the other gangs and eventually gain control of the streets, hence it's name. Eventually, though, with my limited knowledge of scripting, I knew there was no way of making it happen, and instead settled for some people here and there, a few thugs in certain alleys, and cars in the parking lots. I also added a new building in Central Island that looks sorta looks like the Empire State Building. Still though, I was still a far way from being finished when the whole "Mafia II craze" caught up to me.
Maybe I'll post some screens later.

Mafia Scene will be up again in the next few days, riddian (Chris Kempson) has found a new server and will be sorting the transfer/move of the site once his login details for the new hosts/server have come through. As usual I will notify *here* once we are actually working again.

@AnEnigma Mafia Scene uses the account at mediafire and is part and parcel of the downloads section of the site. I only put that up as at the time and until the site is up again once riddian has sorted the move to the new server. It was the best I could do for anyone who wanted the files from MS.

There was no need for your comment implying their offerings were off topic, when you were the first to do that very thing. (just pointing this out of course)
These forums already have a thread on mods and downloads, I for one do not mod games and do not have a site to use for them.. as I said the MS downloads in mediafire are part of MS they are not separate. The site has been down and any news that is necessary to pass on I do so in this thread. And for your information I backed up the files from the last time MS went down, WHEN I was the downloads administrator. However as no one could access these from MS during the recent problems I posted them here. If members here who already discuss their mods on 2K wish to put up their sites or download links.. then surely they can do so in the appropriate topic.

Edit: I will reiterate that, hmm well the propagation should have completed by
about 72 hours, but it seems to be taken aeons. Once it is up and running

try this:
Go to Start > Run and type in cmd
in the command prompt type ipconfig /release
then click OK or Enter
Then type ipconfig /renew
then click OK or Enter
Then type ipconfig /flshdns
click OK or Enter
ipconfig /registerdns
click OK or Enter
This fixed the site not propagating to my connection for me.

MS should be up now, I managed to get in but may take time to
propagate to your DNS; depending where you are.
Now even I have no idea what is going on, but we appear to be having the same problem
again. I have sent an email to Riddian, however I have had no answer from him yet.
Just got an email from Riddian.. the MySQL service had fallen over, he will have a look at this on his return from holiday. The
site is up for now, but no guarantees can be given as to how long it will stay up until a permanent solution is found of course.
