    PS3 Choppy Intro Video

I'm playing this on the PS3.

Is it normal for the introduction video (the one that plays when you start a New game, and opens with the text "1958 Beneath the Atlantic Ocean) to be kind of choppy? It's not horrible, but you can still tell that it's hanging on frames of animation or skipping frames of animation. The movement isn't very smooth and it's somewhat jerky.

I found it most noticeable at around 1:28 when you turn at the stairs, and around 1:54 when you enter the party. I'm linking this video to show the points I'm referring to, not necessarily to check if THAT video is choppy.

The in-game visuals run fine, it's just the introduction video I'm curious about.

Probably a few things that could cause such behaviour.

Easiest way to find the root of the issue is to try your disk in another PS3, see if the same thing happens.

I unfortunately don't know anyone located conveniently near me that owns a PS3.
My slim PS3 is only a few weeks old.

Problem doesn't occur within the game itself?

You mean the choppy framerate? No, the gameplay runs fine. It's just the opening video.
It's probably nothing (as in it's like that on all copies), but I tend to notice lower framerates or choppy movements easily. So it always makes me wonder if something's wrong.
