Don't be so dramatic, it's not improving your beloved 'reputation' at all.
If you did indeed pause when he was attacking the American capital then it's your fault that the game froze, whether it was intentional or not. Disconnecting your controller during a soft freeze can also cause a hard freeze, so you can't exactly blame someone for assuming that you're a cheater since you performed two distinct 'dubious' actions in a short period of time.
None of this proves that you really are a cheater though, so bumbumalot is in the wrong for automatically labeling you as a cheater.
Normally, if someone freezes the game by accident then it's customary for them to take responsibility and quit. The fact that you didn't do this also lends credit to the theory that you're a cheater, but it still doesn't prove it.
If you didn't freeze on purpose, just quitting the game would have silenced any concerns about cheating. So I don't think anyone owes you an apology, you just need to move on and forget about it. The wider community won't consider you a cheater until it happens in multiple games with multiple eyewitnesses, so don't worry about it.

Many things:
1. I didn't hit the pause button before the freeze. As I stated earlier, I disconnected my controller AFTER the game was soft frozen, and the game paused.
2. I did not know he was attacking anyone, so it can't be my fault anyway since i couldn't have intentionally done anything. You see, me not knowing he was attacking means that i couldn't have sabotaged this game.
3. I have only what he said to me to go on. I mean, for all I knew, he could have been making all this crap up about "soft freeze" and him being host or what not. I mean, until ten hours ago... I didn't even know these things were such issues.
4. The REASON that I'm even here is because bumbum brought it to my attention that he was going to SLANDER me here! Why hasn't anyone acknowledged that yet???
5. The people in this forum are ENABLING him to behave this way!!! He's gonna keep doing what he's doing unless someone puts a stop to it!
6. So, Hydro... if I came up to you and make all sorts of wild accusations that weren't true, you wouldn't wan an apology for it???
1) He says you did, you say you didn't. Therefore I can't reach a conclusion either way.
2) I didn't say you did it on purpose. It could have been a complete accident, but it would still be your fault and you would be expected to quit.
3) So if the freeze was nobody's fault and happened by itself, what was your plan? Stay in the game until the other player quits? That's not technically cheating but it's a bit childish, someone should step up and quit.
4) It's not slander. Nobody will automatically treat you as a cheater until we receive multiple reports, like I said earlier. He's just letting us know that you're a potential cheater and to look out for any suspicious behavior, even if he himself thinks that you're a cheater.
5) I don't understand what you're saying. The people of the forum are enabling him to do......what? He hasn't convinced anyone that you're a cheater, only himself.
6) No, because if the accusations are unfounded then I have nothing to worry about. If the accusations are valid, then I'm in the wrong and I don't deserve an apology.

2. The only time I ever hit the start button is if I am going to quit. Otherwise, I never touch it. In the future, if my hitting the start button to pause the game causes the game to freeze, I will quit.
3. I (most likely) would've quit after five minutes of it freezing. The reason why this was so different is because he stated he was going to come to this forum and label me a cheater to the core of the ranked players on XBL.
5. When I said that this forum was enabling him... what I meant was that he is looking to oust people whom he thinks may be cheating. Regardless of if his accusations are true or not, ousting people seems to get him off more than playing the game. The reason why I am still talking about it is because, unless something is done about it, he will falsely accuse someone again.
6. Well, in that case, I'm calling you a big, fat, stinky, poopie-headed meanie! ...and I'm not going to apologize for saying that!!!

My advice is just let it go. Almost every one of us has been called a cheat at one time or another and most of us haven't cheated (as far as I know!). We all take such accusations with a grain of salt. There's another thread on here about a guy who has received so many accusations of cheating that it probably must be true, yet he's only given me fair games. I have no idea why he doesn't cheat against me(no, it's not because I'm losing, I beat him every time), but I can only go by my own experiences. This is the prevailing attitude.
Participate in the forum. Nobody will hold this stupid thread against you. You aren't going to get any satisfaction here, either of you.
This forum is largely ignored by moderators in part because our game has been out a while and in part because we generally maintain a very high level of discourse and moderate ourselves. Flamewars are few and far between. I challenge both combatants to go back and of their own volition, edit all their posts to eradicate this thread.

I don't want to say it's largely ignored, but it's definitely not as high profile as say, forum games, or Mafia. The reason being, just as stated above. It's rare that I come upon threads here that aren't handled amongst your own little community and that's something to be proud of. When I see things like this happen, it makes me shake my head. I also play Civ Rev, and we all have freezes. It's called 'the breaks' and get used to them.
It's a little sad this thread had to come to this. Can people PLEASE use the report thread option if things are getting out of control and no one has noticed? Cheers.
