A Clockwork Orange.
I voted A Clockwork Orange.
The Godfather is just perfect
The story is amazig, and has just the right blend of action and story. There's not like a ton of violence like A Clockwork Orange.
The music is amazing, which always fits the scene.
The characters are very fleshed-out, and Marlon Brando as Vito Corleone is quite possibly the best acting in any movie ever.
The ending, where scenes of the bosses of the five families being assassinated, intermingled with scenes of the baby being baptized, is epic.
Its a pretty emotional movie, and teaches how important family is.

Brutal scenes like this make you hate Alex, and realize that rough anarchy as such is seemingly more and more possible with the youth of modern times.

This makes you feel sad for Alex.
The music is amazing.
And in the end... you realize that everyone should have a choice in the way they act, even if they're as destructive as Alex. You also realize Alex never really changed.
Plus it has a lot of awesome stuff.

I cannot choose between Inception, Godfather Part II, ESB or Schindler. There's no way, you just cannot make me do it. All four movies are just too good to be true, especially ESB and Godfather. Schindler is so emotional and Inception is beyond head twisty. There's no way to choose for me
I just voted Godfather Star Wars is good to but after you see it a bazillion times it gets old. Half of the other movies I haven't heard of or seen.
Godfather 2 for mine, one of the few sequels out there that can actually out do the original and thats saying something considering just how good the first is.

I guess I did a good job on the poll, considering everyone's favorite is on it.
There's so many great movies out there, I'm not sure that I could chose a definitive 'Best Movie Ever' but I think the one that's been the most influential to me as a film maker currently is Christopher Nolan's Memento. Again, I'm not saying this is the best movie of all time, I'm merely stating that it's been very influential to me as an artist and simply as a movie fan. It's a movie that I can watch over and over again without growing tired of and I feel it gains something with each successive viewing rather than losing anything.

It's about a man with short-term memory loss who is trying to track down his wife's killer and get revenge, however, one of the things that makes the movie so unique is that the story is told backwards so that the audience is forced to experience the events not knowing what happened prior to what you're viewing, essentially putting you in the shoes of the protagonist.

On the poll, my favorite's Inception, but my all time favorite film is The Dark Knight. I've seen it at least 20 times, and instead of it getting boring, I get excited watching my favorite parts and characters.

I'm biased towards Brokeback Mountain. It is one of the ultimate new age gay movies. One of them. I voted for Clockwork Orange, but Schindlers List and On Flew Over The Cuckoo's Nest are really great movies also. The Shining is the best horror movie ever made.
There was a movie called "Letters from Iwo Jima," when I first watched it it was a very touching movie that was from the perspective of the Japanese. That one was my favorite of all time. Although I do like all of the ones on this poll.
If you haven't already, you really need to watch Flags of our Fathers. Clint Eastwood directed both films to be companions, and if you've only seen one you're only getting half the experience.
They're all good choices to put in a poll, and he said if your personal favorite isn't there, just put it in your post.
One Flew Over was excellent in many ways, but it probably isn't my favorite movie EVER. ESB doesn't really need to be discussed at all since its scale of epicness is just sort of "known" by all automatically. Inception was great, too - I wonder how long it'll remain THAT fresh in my head though. It was a pretty recent release in comparison to the other contenders on the poll; as well as any other choices listed by other posters already.
I really don't know. ESB is up there, I loved Goodfellas, The Departed...
I don't really prefer to say I have a single movie that is just my absolute favorite. I still have a few in my library that I need to finish - maybe they can take that spot for me.
