Game Freezes When I Save

I'm running the game on a Samsung R580 laptop with Intel Core i3 processor, Win 7, DirectX 11, NVIDIA GeForce with Cuda graphics, 4 gb memory. All dlls have been updated and are current. The game was installed from CD.

QuickSave seems to be OK but named saves crash right after the save finishes. The save completes properly but I cannot return to the game. When I restart, the saved game loads and runs no problem.

So far, it seems to happen more often when playing as the Romans than as the Chinese. It happens more often in full screen than in window mode.

Occasionally it crashes when attempting to select a leader right at the beginning.

All crashes are freezes. The sound stops and the screen freezes - no defects - the screen looks perfect.

Any help will be apprciated.

Strange issue
can you please rename your Civ5 folder, (located in my docs/my games) and try again?

I changed the name and get the same, or similar, results.
