    What I would need is

    1) an expanded description of what happens when you try to run the game
    2) some system info, preferably from the dxdiag report

im having the same issue I bought it on steam and i try to launch and it opens the grey steam loading box then disappears. When i set special launch options on the bioshock.exe like run in compatibility mode with win 2000 I get to the bioshock spash but then it crashes, and when i try the run this as admin in the properties box i get an endless UAC box asking me to let it run, no matter how many times i say yes it keeps asking and does nothing. Im not sure how much of the dxdiag you wanted so ill post just the beginning seeing as i dont see an attachment option on these forums:

    RemyKirin,

What is your video hardware? It is under the display tab of dxdiag.

From first blush it will be unlikely that you will be able to play Bioshock on that system. It is using an Intel Atom processor @ 1.8Ghz where the minimum is a Pentium 4 @ 2.4Ghz. The Atom also performs less work per clock of Ghz than Pentium processors so that exacerbates the issue.

    http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Intel_Atom#Performance

But really what I am thinking is that if your system has an Atom processor then an appropriate GPU to pair with it is almost certainly below the minimum for Bioshock as well. The GPU minimum is either an Ati X1300 and up excluding an X1550 OR an nVidia 6600 and up. The naming schemes of GPUs can be confusing so just post what it is here and we'll have a look.

I have the nvidia next gen ION with 512 dedicated memory, but my system has the Optimus it uses the Intel gpu for day to day stuff to save power then will switch to the Nvidia for games and movies and high end graphical needs. And I dont think performance is an issue with one of the few multi core atom chip which is what i have. You can play fear 2 on some of the medium settings and get 30-40fps

the video tab only shows the intel gma 3150 but if i post the full dxdiag it shows later on that i have the ion as well. If you guys want ill post the full dxdiag. Plus I also have a 16gb class 10 sdcard i use for ready boost, that shouldnt make too much diff but im just mentioning it.

Yes RemyKirin please post the details. You can create a new thread if you would like, considering that this is a bit of a hi-jack

spoon98 and JotS, still need some help at all? If so we need details
