No, that's not how you do it!
Im in the process of working for my minecraft *I played on my friends a lot!* I am getting the guru to update my computer & then I shall pay for one! MINECRAFT HERE I COME!!!!!
I'm having trouble building a piston gate, which is a thing where there are pistons, and blocks on them, and when the pistons are triggered, the blocks are pushed or pulled, opening and closing the gate. I'm having trouble with the redstone wiring and levers and button placement and all that. Will I need repeaters or Redstone Torches?
You know, I'm really not liking this RPG direction that Notch is trying to take Minecraft. I mean, there's talk of dragons for Christ's sake! Now we have experience and skills and there's what looks like a potion bottle in a recent leaked screenshot. I like Minecraft because you can use it to build cool stuff, but I wouldn't be caught dead playing a full-on RPG.
Yeah. I swear, he better not ☺☺☺☺ this up. It's a gem of a game. I thought he was building the game based on Infiniminer, a game which failed after people stopped paying attention to the game's objectives and instead started building stuff with the blocks instead. Point is, this game at the core really is just for building neat things and exploring, and not dragons and quests.
Google Minecraft "11"... The birth of a story for Minecraft?
Potions? Enchantments? Damn you, Notch.
Minecraft is going downhill, people.
I kinda think this is gonna be neat...
Want to build anything you want? There's still the building stuff mode...![]()
Update: Notch classified form a great overlord, to a mostly benevolent dictator that the people grow weary of.
The whole, turning Minecraft into a RPG isn't too hot of an idea for the people. Once he scraps it, he will be the great overlord Notch again.
Oh, I get what you're saying. It's a shame this is the direction he's taking, and, quite sadly, if you look at the comments on the Minecraft news feed, it's mostly positive feedback he's getting. It really is a shame.
Thanks for killing Minecraft, Notch, that's just what we needed.
I don't know what you have against Notch's decision. Besides, Minecraft has been an RPG all along. When you find a dungeon that has a monster spawner and a chest full of treasure, you're doing something you would do in an RPG. When you find diamonds after exploring a cave, you're finding a new material for you to upgrade your weapons/tools. When you make a diamond pickaxe or armor and replace your iron pickaxe with it, you're upgrading your weapon and yourself--just like you would in an RPG.
Yes, but it's never had potions and enchantments or dragons- the bad (IMO) parts of the RPG genre. Up until now it's been a good RPG. I've played RPG games before, like Dead Island and Bioshock, but I'd never touch the World of Warcraft type with a ten foot pole. I've tried that kind before and hated it.
Well you know, Notch might not even put in the dragons, least that's what I heard. And the potions, just think of them as Bonus Crafting. You probably won't need anything you get from that, so you can always avoid it and continue playing the game like you're used to.
And what if dragons and potions are unavoidable? Well, you haven't even played it yet, have you?![]()
Like I said in the Steam chat yesterday, even if they are avoidable I don't like what they do to the face of the game. I don't want to have to worry about anyone finding out that I play Minecraft. If they are unavoidable then I've tossed a twenty down the toilet. I paid for a sandbox adventure game, not a weird cube-based WoW remake.
I know that he probably won't add dragons and I hope to God he doesn't.
Like RWBR it will most likely be avoidable that extra little crafting. I doubt Notch will go any farther.
So... Anyone going to Minecon? :P
Since 1.8, it's been unplayable for me...![]()
@Theta Not me
@Shades How so?
A number of issues. For one, the website itself looks strange; a bit stretched. Secondly, when playing on my world some of my items (chest, picture etc.) appear black with no texture. Another problem is the constant black screen. It will frequently crash on me, my PC doesn't crash, Minecraft does though. The last issue is a strange one. My sound and music settings are always turned off, which is odd because I know I never turned them off prior to 1.8.
Help would be greatly appreciated!
Is this on multiplayer that this is happening?
