gearbox and 2k together is a bad ocmbination imo. Duke nukem 3d was a great game for its time, im guessing the majority of people here iddnt paly it on first release. Serious sam and duke3d came out...
might be because bioshock1 supported directx10 but bioshock2 is only 9 and 11 i think. still game wont run and i have no idea how to fix it.
I have been playing Bioshock2 multiplayer now for a couple of days and to be honest it isnt that bad. Although the graphics do look worse than bioshock1 and it is a little choppy it works fine....
singleplayer- the game loads up then less than a second after the disclaimer appears the screen goes white and i must ctrl alt delete and clsoe bioshock2 to get rid of it.
multiplayer- seems to work...
so bioshock2 has finally had a patch released for it? shame cause the game crashes as soon as i try to load it up so theres no way of me downloading the patch through GFWL
reason why im not interested in a 50s setting is mainly becuase its to close to ww2 and i have played way to many ww2 shooters. I would rather something else. ALso its a good point that ww2 fighters...
yeai have no problems with this game, it sounds like a fun shooter with some slightly new elements, i enjoyed bioshock1 it was a good fps. But when people read the news xcom, they expect to be...
for me xcom was never really about the setting or the fact it followed any sort of "ufo mythos". I couldnt really care less about the stories becasue they never felt like anything important. What i...
im with brain damage on this one, we can show disapointment in a game because we know already the game is an fps. Im sure many of the xcom fans dont play fps games so to tell them not to be...
to be fair though the aliens from ufo enemy unknown wouldnt work well in an fps. Alot are considered cliche aliens (sectoid/snakeman/etheral) and in no way would they compare to modern day fps...
many yes, but a larger amount of players than any on current memory do not have a bug free experience with this game than any previous game. I can honestly understand a buggy game but not 3 mnoths...
unlikely, im sure 2k new exactly what thier forums would look like after announcing the desecration of a gaming classic. The must have known the backlash it would generate and are probably avoiding...
its like the director of conan the destroyer saying hes a big robert e howard fan. :)
but it didnt take them 3 months for the first patch
what is really suprising is, bioshock2 hasnt changed a great deal really to bioshock1 and yet it comes with more bugs than any game i can recall..
maybe hidden and dangerous had more bugs not sure....
still its disapointing however way you look at it. But ill atill be keeping my eye on this game even though it isnt the xcom i was hoping for. with plenty of xcom clones on the horizon im not to...
im just worried it will be more arcade in style, similar to the gta series instead of having its own identity (mafia1). Alot of minor touches actually made mafia1's city more believable than gta san...
lesson i have learned is dont buy a 2k game until the "miracle patch" is released for it 4-6months later.
mafia2 will likely be bug ridden and its a 50/50 chance it wont even be playable on my pc...
after hearing about what 2k have done to xcom franchise im a little worried about mafia2 being a stripped and dumbed down version of mafia1. Have any of the features from the original(filling up gas...
apocalypse had a greater connection between its aliens than previous xcoms, mainly because of the alien life cycle of egg-multiworm-hyperworm-chrysalis-alien along with there being far fewer...
thing with fallout though was it simply changed the way combat worked, it still kept the esential rpg elements (multiple conversation trees, perks, skills, s.p.e.c.i.a.l system, monster types, side...
doesnt sound promising at all really, I hate the idea of named and fully fleshed out characters (eg the scientist guy) i want to be able to hire/fire whoever i want within my organistation. This game...
well in bioshock you do play a role within its game world, so esentially you are roleplaying :) ut the same could be said for 99% of games.
yea i would say bioshock is an fps with some rpg elements. Its clsoer to an fps than an rpg though. However deus ex was clsoer to an rpg than an fps.
