news or info about Pitboss and PBEM.
Thanks
Very true, customers need to learn to do their research before buying a game. I have learned that the hard way and now I carefully read all available info before a purchase. And it must be said that...
On the box it says: "Internet connection required for activation"
On 2K site it says: "An Internet connection is not required after the initial installation"
I don't know what you are defending...
This is true but you are missing the point: if a game is advertised as not needing an internet connection to play but then it does in fact require one, you can't blame the person who purchased the...
I don't know if it was done on purpose or not but even at the time it was well known that it was false info, I replied to 2K Greg the same day they published their FAQ pointing him to the hundreds of...
What you say is true BUT Civ5 was advertised under the explicit (and false) promise that it only required a one-time internet connection so people that don't have internet bought it in good faith.
...
the AI often keeps moving injured units, therefore never healing them
I have the same name on civfanatics forums.
Capture the capital is bad gameplay, especially in the late game when it basically runs down to: declare war, launch nuke, send 2 tanks. If the capital is on the coast you can destroy an immense...
Religion is more and more irrelevant as time passes, I don't see how you could win Civ with religion.
1upt is great but it has 2 big problems: AI can't handle it well and map size is too small
On the other hand I would not return to SODs
I think the most elegant solution is still the SMAC system:...
Former lead designer John Shafer talks in depth about his design decisions with Civ5.
Some interesting bits:
On Civ5 release:
On the User Interface:
On Deity the AI stockpiles money like crazy, I have seen AI with 400k gold.
Probably they have so many bonuses on higher levels that there is no way to spend all the money they make.
And, most important, many mods will stop working. If the author is not active anymore then the mod is lost and you can't play it anymore.
This is an AWESOME idea. With Civ3 and Civ4 I always...
It's here: http://store.steampowered.com/app/8930/
It's now fixed:
If you launch Civ5 all mods are uninstalled and they can't be installed anymore from the Steam Workshop, it's broken, subscribing to mods doesn't work at the moment.
I don't know how many people...
Firaxis developer was complaining that he reached the point where he cannot do the changes the game needs because of limitations in Civ5 core. This will be the last expansions, then it's time for...
Don't get your hopes high, they just don't care about multiplayer.
It's almost 3 years since release, in few months they will start development of Civ6, and multiplayer is still crap.
Alpha Centauri is still superior to Civ in many aspects (which is weird, considering that the game is like 15 years old).
That said, SMAC 3D map was cool but I am also ok with Civ flat map.
They are going to release the last expansion for Civ5 this summer, and only then they will start working on the new game, so don't expect Civ6 before summer 2015.
Sounds great (if it's true and if it works).
I don't have time for modding at the moment, I was just correcting my previous statement.
Actually it's not that easy. Making workers upgradable to fishing boats is simple, but the tricky part is that the promotion should only be available if the worker is embarked.
