I got my drivers from the realtek site, and also got that error message you had. So I guess I'll try what you did and see if that helps...
Surely nowadays more people are on widescreen than standard anyway? Most new generic-box pc's you see being advertised seem to come with one, and they're essentially the same price as 4:3 screens to...
edit: using realtek hd audio on motherboard, like all the rest of you.
Meh, I stupidly started a new thread before seeing this one.
Exact same problem on integrated sound. New drivers haven't fixed it :(
