Dear Forum and Elizabeth,
Many of us here are great fans of the System Shock games, to many of us these games were very fun, important and meaningful experiences. There are also probably alot of people who have never experienced any of this game series, and would be fortunate to have the opportunity to play through these exceptional games. What I am asking, is that the Ken Levine, 2K et tal, add eventually (maybe a key on the DVD unlocks a download from the marketplace) the option to DL slightly HD adjusted versions of System Shock 1 and System Shock 2 (or include them on the DVD itself). Regardless current windows systems makes it very difficult for myself and others to play these old, classic games. As a forumer and hopeful, enthusiastic supporter of Ken Levine's masterful gaming series, I would encourage everyone to voice support, by signing this thread, asking diligently (hopefully aided by a formal proposition from Elizabeth to the developers) that versions of System Shock 1 and System Shock 2 should be; A) Included on the retail DVD (seems more unlikely) B) A code included with retail that will allow download at a future date C) A fully fledged release on Xbox Live Arcade, complete with update graphics and sound. I am asking everyone that is interested in receiving these games in a version to be played on the Xbox 360 (or even the PS3!!) would please sign below. Elizabeth if you would be so kind as to propose this suggestion to the developers, and see if this is something to be considered. Sincerely, James AKA PrivateJoker |

I would like it on there but I don't think Irrational or 2K have the rights to the Series, but I never played either and I would like to play them.

Not possible, as EA games owns the System Shock franchise, and they won't let a competitor profit from their games. Shame really, EA won't care to make a deal if it involved money for someone else

EA owns the IP for System Shock? I thought Looking Glass went out of business, I would have thought Ken Levine/ and the original developers, held the rights to those games. |

If this is entirely true, than at least hopefully EA will be opportunistic and use the commercial poopularity of Bioshocks inevitable success, and will release SS1 and SS2 on Xbox Live arcade. Hopefully. ![]() |

![]() One nice thing about Bioshock, though, is that Ken & company don't really have to lose much sleep worrying about the aging System Shock franchise when they're pushing the gaming envelope and really turning heads with something really new. I love the way he turned a snub that he could have cried over into an opportunity to seize, by just starting his own damn spiritual successor to SS2 that'll blow everybody away (and make a little money along the way). ![]() Last edited by demagogue : 06-02-2007 at 02:31 PM. |

When looking glas bellied up EA retained the rights to System Shock. I do know how the OP feels though, I had a thread like this in questions to the developers but that was a while back, NewBeing set me straight on who owns the rights. We can only hope EA does release the SS games as Arcade DL's or something. I miss my SS1
