With acceleration, the player movement in relation to the mouse depends on how quickly you move the mouse. So if you move the mouse 6 inches at 1 inch per second, the player may rotate 90 degrees. If you move the mouse 6 inches at 3 inches per second, the player may rotate 270 degrees. The problem with this for some people (like me), is that they find it counterintuitive and annoying. When I tell my brain to move my arm from point A to point B, I want my arm to go to point B, regardless of how fast I move it. I don't want it to suddenly jump to point C, then try to compensate for the unexpected extra movement and move it back to B. With no mouse acceleration, the movement on screen always matches 1-to-1 with the movement that your hand makes. This makes the on-screen movement a direct extension of your own, without requiring your brain to compensate for distance based on the speed of your movement. If mouse acceleration is implemented properly, it the acceleration is usually gradual. The amount of "extra" speed imparted to the on-screen movement increases gradually with the mouse speed, i.e. slowest/slow/normal/fast/fastest. This makes the acceleration smoother and easier to use (if you must) The problem with BioShock is that it uses no curve, it basically behaves like this: slowest/slowest/FASTEST/FASTEST/FASTEST. There is a dramatic difference in movement when the accelration kicks in. This makes it frustrating for any experienced FPS player who has cultivated the fine motor coordination required to aim precisely and instinctively. This is why we want this fixed. |

Anyway You didnt explain mouse lag which is pretty simple. You move the mouse for x amout of time the cursor does nothing then moves then you stop, but for x amount of time again the cursor keeps moving then stops. This is mouse lag. Basicly the game (or whatever) is registering your movements noticeable after you do them. Which makes doing anything with the mouse rather difficult. |

QUOTE] I mean you move the mouse but for x amout of time the cursor does nothing then it moves. Then when you stop moving but for x amount of time again the mouse cursor keeps moving then stops. x would be the time between your movement and the movement on screen. if that makes sense. |

Agreed. When you move the mouse slowly for precision aim, the acceleration is so slow that it almost feels like a joystick deadzone.

Just posting here to bump this, as I believe it is the most imporatant issue with bioshock right now. As soon as mouse acceleration gets fixed, it would be nice to get a coop mod
