The People and Places of Civilization V
Good evening everybody!
I put up a new community feature on our Civ V website: http://www.civilization5.com/#/commu...civilization_v It details the people and places I'll encounter in Civilization V. I'm going to be writing a lot more features like this, so please let me know how you like it! |

Nice job! It's great.
So Ancient Ruins are the new tribal villages. The natural wonders seem to be a good addition. I hope they include Niagara Falls. I like the concept of destroying barbarian encampments, but wouldn't most be destroyed in the early game by exploring civilizations? Do more appear? I really like the city-states. I knew they would replace barbaric cities, but wow. They can send you on missions, benefit you, and even have different types and features--great job on this! And then there is strategic view. I like the sound of that. Last edited by Floating Pants : 07-13-2010 at 11:12 AM. |

Yes, more do appear. Similar to Civ4, camps can spawn in any tile that can't currently be seen by any unit of any civilization. As the map becomes more and more filled with cities, barbarians will spawn less and less (due to less area being available) until (usually) there's just no room anymore.

Hey nice to see more on this new version!
I see only one thing that I must query you about though. You stated the following: "Encampments are usually guarded by at least one fortified unit..." Does this mean that barbarian "encampments" can hold more than one unit unlike other civs including ours? T'Jourd |

SamBC is correct; in Civ V, "guarding" an area means more than just putting a unit on the tile

Very good. I was hoping there would not be more barby's in the encampments.

but he did mention something that I thought was interesting. The whole "guarding an area" thing he mentioned. Is there more to this or where you just talking bout fortifying? |
