Fun Multiplayer Games...

Ok, I need some help finding games that have good offline multiplayer components. While yes, xbox live is fun, it still cannot compete with playing with a group of friends in the same setting. Probably the best last gen multiplayer experience was the Timesplitter series, as you were allowed have four players, bots, and lots of customization. Perfect Dark Zero tried to present a pleasing offline multiplayer but was way unsuccessful compared to its predecessor. So do any of you guys know of games that are comming out with good multiplayer components? Right now, my friends and I are stuck with playing with NBA Homecourt, as it is the only game that has a fun gameplay, four player compatability, and computer controlled opponents. Thanks.
