Bioshock 2 Artist Series

With the recently announced Artist Series, featuring Jhonen Vasquez as the first artist, I was wondering what artists you would like to see, or think would be a good choice to choose to do this. The artists have already been picked out, so this is just for fun, and to discuss.

The only thing I like about the first one is the Big Sister. Yes, the artist worked on Invader Zim, a cartoon series I like, but I find no room for cartoony horror elements in BioShock artistic representations.

I mostly hate the Little Sisters. The main one is just over the top weird, expressing a feeling of "I've always wanted to do this, but mommy on the surface said "No!"" The one in the background seems worse, with her cartoony face.

I have to agree, I take Bioshock very seriously, but I do think he did a good job, even with the cartoon-ish, almost drug induced looking elements, and I love the octopus hair-pin on the closer Little Sister, I think that was a nice touch. All in all I like it, he did it differently, but not too different. I think it would get boring if everyone represented Bioshock with the same serious style over and over again. It's nice to see the artist add their own personal touch to their images.

I agree with the fact that it is very "cartoonish". I don't think that is the feeling that Bioshock gives off overall, but I do like seeing other perceptions from artists. I really like how "The Sisters" gives off a totally twisted and creepy vibe. It is one of my favorite pieces of art based on Bioshock. Hope to see more variety in the artists series, I can't wait.

500 copies and signed?! Jeez...those lucky 500. Compare that number to the number of BioShock fans in the world.
I find it wierd that he misunderstood who they were on the first call...but not on the second call. Maybe the money offer rose?
Anyway, if they started releasing this art series that depicts the Big Sister and Little Sisters (and potentially the protoBD in the future), that means 2k is probably going to settle on these designs/details as the final draft for the game (or at least close to what you'll see in them).
I've noticed a few differences between the BS helmet on the GameInformer cover and the art by Jhonen. But nothing major to drastically change the idea.

I'm contemplating going to the comicon,but i don't like seeing mass-cosplay,i don't know,it just freaks me out.

Anyways if i had to choose an artist, well i'd like to see a Marvel Approach to bioshock,so probably stan lee.Mark crilly would be a bit interesting....I'm sure theres a few others, but i can't remember there names.

Edit: Nevermind, from the looks of it they are sold out of badges,oh well.

This is just amazing, if any of you knew Vasquez's real artistic view of things, you could understand a lot about "The Sisters" portrait. [I have art talent and know what to look for in art.(I have been working on something related to BS2 also...)]

I would say this would go up in one of his best pieces of art that he has done.
For me this is a 10 out of 10. The theme of BioShock mixed with his point of view, was just an awsome mix to be done.

*sniff*
I wish Michael Turner could draw a protoBD masterpiece. That would turn out so well.

For the people that are ignorant of Vasquez's real artistic view of things, could you enlighten us with your infinite knowledge? What do you see with those artistic eyes that we do not?

I wonder how many Zim fangirls will like it just because it's Jhonen Vasquez. -shrug-

Anyway, it does look quite amazing. The slighty macabre, cartoony look really works well on this piece.

I'm serious there. I want to know what trained eyes/minds see/detect that I do not.
