Default Official Collectors edition, Limited edition and normal edition thread

Untill now I thought that what people call the limited edition was the big box with the gubbins and the big daddy super toy but if you check www.amazon.co.uk theyre selling what they call a Limited Edition [Tin Case] for the exact same price as their normal edition.

This at first scared the pee out of me because Ive got what i thought was the limited edition (big daddy super toy edition if you will) for £40, which is a lot more than the £24.98 amazon lists for their LE! However, when i checked my order with www.game.co.uk it turns out that £40 is for the COLLECTORS EDITION of the game...

Soooo what the hell? there are three editions of the game? the collectors edition, which I take to be the thing everyone on the forum is calling the limited edition, the limited edition that amazon is selling which looks like it might just be the standard version but with a tin case and the normal edition which is like the Limited edition except in a PLASTIC case.

Nice job marketing this boys, reeeeeeal nice

Yep, 3 versions.

Tin case, Collectors and standard. Tho i dont think the USA can get the tin case one.

And the retailers arent meant to be calling it the LE I hear, its meant to be just called the tin case edition - but i cant see that name making copies fly off the shelf.

It's confusing me too. I started this thread on it a while ago, you might want to check it out as it kind of helps explain things...

It is one of the more confusing releases to date though...

Default Attention All Of Those Confused About Limited/collector's Edition!

Right, after doing hours of research, talking to online representatives and being referred to publishers, I believe I have come up with the definitive answer to all your problems.

Outside of America, there is of course the Tin Box Edition which replaces the Standard Edition (I am guessing for a limited amount of time). It also seems that in the Special/Collector's Edition the Tin Box Edition comes with, so it does come in an embossed steel case! So if you buy the Collector's/Special Edition you are getting all the extras PLUS the embossed steel case in the big box. Alternatively, you can buy the embossed steel case version separately, known in some places as Tin Box version, Limited Edition etc. so don't be fooled into thinking this standalone embossed steel version is the Collector's Edition!

I hope I have made things clearer for all you Non-USA customers. I for one am relieved and happy!

Yep that looks 100% correct to me. So if you are in europe and you want the big daddy figure, you need the Special Edition which is also known as the Collectors Edition, and not the Limited Edition.

In the states if you want the Big Daddy and the steel case, you could order the SE/CE from europe, but probably only on PC, the 360 one might be region locked.

I'd take the tin case over the figure which might be broken....but that's just me probably.
