yea they are smarter then using the pc clock to check the date... its done when the installer connects to the master server during the installation. and no , you cant install without internet plugged in

Do we have to jump through any hoops on fire to play a game that has been purchased? 2k continues the drop the ball on this one. I love how anti piracy only frustrates legit users. I don't know which is better games with long CD keys you have to enter before you can play or games that won't work unless you connect to their servers. Piracy is huge on consoles and I don't see half the crap that PC gamers go through on any of them.

It's your customer responsibility to know that this game cannot be activated until launch date; therefore, you accept the consequences of not yet being able to play your purchased item. There is no need for an EULA, and mistakes always happen.

right, its a huge pain. all the online authentication check does it make sure you have a legit dvd in the drive. you do not enter your key until afterwards when there is no longer a requirement for internet. I checked my timestamps after it authenticated and the only file that was edited was the exe.
