Day 11

2 notes have appeared, both are written by mark, one on his desk and one on the floor.

In the first note mark tells us that he's finally openend the "lunch-box" that appeared in his office. He is very confused. He says it could be his daughters work but it could also be forged. He then wonders if this is all a hoax and if someone's playing with him. He says he needs proof that his daughter is alive. Mark also translated the little note inside, he writes "someplace cold" and "Down here" "ba☺☺☺☺☺t? Vault?"
he ends the message with "Exhausted but cant sleep.. start fresh tomorrow..."

On the second note he goes more indepth about whats inside the box.
"What does it mean" he wonders. he says that whoever is responsible for this has changed the girls. "but into what and why?" "what is this hellish place" he asks himself. "populated with angels and monsters? sharks in the sky?" Hallucinations??"
he says his 1st instinct says that none of this can be real. "someone is forcing her to say these things... to DRAW these things. he says the codes, the phrasing and the drawnings look like its from his daughter but she has changed. Mark is now having a great inner conflict, on one side he knows that it is her and on the other side he screams No it cant be..

We dont know how mark has come to the conclusion that the characters on the drawing are angels and monsters. he also has not mentioned anything about the mask.
(Thanks to venom wolf for the pics )

Day 12

Today the time of day seems to have switched to nighttime again. The office has changed somewhat, We now find mark's coat on the hallstand and his hat is hanging on his chair, implying that mark is at home now. On the closet on the right we now find a photo camera and binoculars. On his bookshelf to the far right we see a tape recorder, nothing is recorded at this moment, yet.

We also have a new message on the anwsering machine. Its Phill from NUFOS.
Transcript: Mark, you asked about the "vanishing" the other day. Okey, what i think you're referring to is right after World War 2 there was this wave of disappearances all over America, i mean all over europe, heck, all over the world. We're talking some pretty prominent individuals; doctors, scientists, up and comming artists, succesfull businessmen. after time it all got suspisciously ignored by the newspapers. But the weird thing is we're talking 1946-1947 and you know what else is going on? bingo! all the breakthrough sightings. Mount renier, Maury Island, Roswell. Coincidence? i think not! Anyway some hippie magazine did a coverstory on the "vanishing" this month. Check it out!

Day 13

Mark has recieved the coverstory about the "vanishing" in the hippy magazine mentioned by phil in day 12. you can find 2 pieces of paper on the little table on the far left side.

The magazine itself is called "the monthly undergrounder" this article is from the june 1968 edition the article is called "The original drop-outs: The secret history of the vanishing and is written by Colin Anton Ressnak.
The intro says the following: "In the wake of World War II, Hundreds - possibly thousands - of people simply vanished, including some of the world's most uncompromising and unappreciated talents in the worlds of art, science and industry. Where did they all go? And why? the story starts with Colin saying how he sat in the kitchen of Arthur Gene Tuggle enjoying a perfect day but how one thing was wrong with it: He was looking at 7 scrolls of butcher paper covered with neat, cramped handwriting. They where in diffrent colors and festooned with orgies of strange punctuations - stars, astensks, hearts and diamonds. Every single one of these tiny entries is the name of a person who's been missing, presumed dead, for about 2 decades, he writes. "How many" Colin asks. "Well that depends on who you ask" says Arthur. "thats why Anna May (arthur's wife) came up with all the symbols. we're comparing our list with the other folk's' lists" he explains. "some say it's just a few dozen that can't be explained. Others estimate it's hundreds, maybe even thousands"
"That seems high to me" says Colin. Arthur shrugs and says "we're all just guessing"
read part 1 here

The 2nd part seems to be written by an editor of the magazine. It tells us how Arthur and his wife where among a handfull of people looking into the phenomenon called "the vanishing"
It then continues that in the United States alone, some claim that about half a million people are reported missing each year. Most of them are eventually "found" - in a jail cell, in a hospital, in a Haight-Ashburry crash pad or on a slab. But every year thousands remain undiscovered. Most officials say "the vanished" are just mundane missing persons cases - no mystery need apply. But many disagree. they claim that among the list of missing persons in the 1946 to 1950 range, we find a large number of highly functional, highly talented people. The list includes radical artists, unconventional scientists, restless innovators in business as well as "ordinary" people who subscribed to iconoclastic notions of freedom and self-reliance.
further more it tells that many suspect that the vanished are simply individuals who became disgusted with modern society and became the original drop-outs - heading back to nature or assuming new lives elsewhere. There is an example giving explaining how some think the vanishing is a soviet plot trying to stall the west's edge in science and culture. another example is that others think that it wasn't a conspiracy but a movement. They say the vansihed founded a new utopia far from home where they could share their unique gifts. it ends with saying that Oscar Lutwidge, an eccentric scholar who consulted with various conspiracy researchers, vanished himself after vowing to find "true rapture"
the 2nd part of the article (thanks to Venom Wolf for the screens)

Day 14
There is a message on the awnsering machine, its from detective Benny Stango.
Transcript
Yo Meltzer. Detective Stango here. So I’ve been hearing about weird goings on at all hours of the night. I gotta admit Meltzer, which struck me a little funny. Guy’s studying the disappearance of little girls all over the place, and then his own kid gets kidnapped. Still trying to connect the dots on that one. Hey you know, it just could be the coincidence of the friggin’ century, or it could be you know something you ain’t tellin’. Let’s just say maybe I’m ready to believe you Meltzer. Maybe we oughta have a little conversation. Frankly I’d rather do this easy. But if I don’t get my druthers as you know, we could always do it right. You think about that Meltzer. (thanks Venom ;-)) P.S. druthers means preferance, so stango is bassicly saying "if i dont get it my way"

There is also a new piece of paper on the side-table to the right.
Mark seems to have named this document "The Vanishing"
its bassicly a note where mark tries to see if there is a connection between the the vanishing of people the little girls kidnappings. He writes "Global pattern-> recurring features-> Official denial-> massive cover-up?" "Mysterious disapp. Mostly Adults + girls". And he put a circle around "1947 - 1967 20 years, coincidence???" He also asks himself: "Is there a connection? Worth pursuing?" a very interesting fact is that he wrote down some of the "important" people that vanished and commented: Langford- taken? Steinman- kidnapped? Suchong- fugitive? Ludwidge?? - missing - 1958 (rapture= Rev. ref?)
you can check it here

Day 15
2 things, first is a newspaper article about Dr. Steinman's disappearance.
There's not much to be said, its one of Steinman's former colleges and friend telling how Steinman went missing and that he's hired a private detective to try and solve the mystery of the disappearance.
Article on Steinman

the 2nd thing is a new message on the awnsering machine, its Inman.
Transcript
Meltzer, this is Inman. I know I promised you materials on the missing persons situation, but-look I wanted to warn you ONI has been under lockdown after recent events. They have us prepping files on potential dissidence. Unstable personalities. Paraonia is running high at all levels. I’d advise you to maintain a low profile. And watch your back. About a week ago, I mailed Meltzer's address. Today, I received this in the mail:

http://www.twitpic.com/74ikv

The return address I gave on my original letter to Meltzer's address is a variation of my name I don't generally use, so I can guarantee that this is connected to the teaser site.

Anyone else received a drawing?
I've started a parallel thread here: http://forums.2kgames.com/forums/sho...d.php?p=457498
As I signed up for the purpose of brainshare at this point in the event, I'll happily use the parallel thread or this one as this particular forum's customs dictate.
