Exclamation Simplified Chinese was not yet used in the 1950s !!!

Hello everyone, I'm a big fan of Mafia from Hong Kong.

I've found a mistake in Mafia 2 screenshot below. It shows Joe's flat in the 1950s, there are two Chinese word "美爱" on the wall which are in simplified form. But actually, the first round official simplification of Chinese characters was released till 1956. They are not popular over ten years. Thus this is non-sense to see simplified Chinese overseas in the 1950s.

I suggest the simplified Chinese existing in the game should be changed into traditional Chinese. In this case, "美"(Beauty) has no problem as it does not have a simplified form. But "爱"(Love) should be changed to "愛".

The screen:

Traditional Chinese info:

He's right. If you are going to make a game with great attention to detail, then pay attention to detail. We have people asking for realistic blinkers in another thread. This seems more of an issue to me, than that.

This version of Joe's flat is from a half of 50th. Not from the year 1950.
That is a difference.

People, read what he says....if the simplified chinese wasn't popular even by the people using it, then in someone's flat in America it wouldn't appear for even more obvious reason

Please do not make any more personal attacks (or facepalms) against hk1207, his intention is to help and there is nothing wrong with the way he went about it. You may very well do the same thing if you saw a foreign developer make a mistake that didn't match with the timeline, like a World War 2 game that had 60s or 70s era "groovy" storefronts.

If I see anyone else offer disrespect to the OP, I will have to issue infractions. Be nice.

To the OP, I will pass this along but no promises on it getting changed.
