i just cant wait until the game dev. conv.---i hope it will put all these stupid rumors to death--

the only cool thing was the rapture zoo-- thats RE all over again. been there done that--nothing new at all

soviets? ugh--no thanks! splicers are good enough for me! commie splicers? hmmm...still no sorry--

swimming parts of the game...eh could be cool

giant squid---why would you fight a squid? that makes zero sense--unless it was spliced beyond human imagination

a slow down plasmid--hey! fear!? anyone?!

telepathy--50/50 could be fun the first few times.

if this is all true looks like itll be a renter!

And I'm not so sure I'm really keen on having Soviets and, erm, spliced dogs and robots in the game. I really wish this didn't seem to be drifting THAT far away from BioShock 1. Not so sure on the challenge rooms as I never got to play them (I own BioShock for the 360), either.

On the other hand, the boss battles actually, IMO, sound kind of epic. And having the Big Sister as our main antagonist is pretty interesting. Underwater diving stuff? Heck yes. The new plasmids also sound pretty neat as well and I think I'm kinda excited about a co-op mode.

Of course, if all of this is true. Unfortunately guys, NeoGAF is rarely ever wrong; they actually predicted the entirety of Super Smash Bros. Brawl's roster, for example, before it came out.
i feel the same, it strays VERY far from BS1. an entirely different game. But it sounds sweet too... I'll definitely keep BS1 separate as my favorite, but this game will definitely come through too. One thing i do hope for, though, is a mid-game plot twist, and not a predictable one too.

edit: the scares better still be there. These things sound much more shooter/adventure, not necessarily scary. spoiler just in case

Well everyone, I'm going to be going out in a bit and I'm going to see if my local Blockbuster is carrying the newest issue of Game Informer (and maybe some other stores tomorrow). If they are carrying the issue, I'll try to look through it and will try to confirm or not if all of this is true. Unfortunately, I can't promise anything if my Blockbuster doesn't have the issue, but I'll try.

We need verification, though!
Alot of the details posted match with other reports. I think this is the real deal. Co-op could be fun... Key word "could" but I'm not sure if it's very BioShock. As for Soviets and spliced dogs, WTF?

That said, this has got me more interested than that picture of the big Sister. Still not sure what I think.

Hopefully this is all just the result of trolling and rumors, but for some reason, I have a bad feeling about BioShock 2...

Blitzkrieg- Both of the lists are from separate threads on the Gamespot forums

Here are a few scattered thoughts:

I am really glad to see the Rapture Zoo getting some love. That was one of my dreams for Bioshock 2 so it is great to see that it made it.

The lack of Big Daddies is puzzling but Game Informer on the website said "wait until you see what happened to the Big Daddies!" or something like that so the jury might still be out.

The telepathy plasmid kind of makes it sound like there might be more non-hostile NPCs to interact with. If that's the case, I would definitely count that as a plus.

Some of these things like Soviets and giant squids do give me concern that they are moving to making Bioshock more of a generic run and gun game. Coop is cool. One notable omission though is competitive multiplayer. Perhaps 2k is holding some aces up their sleeve for one of the trade shows but frankly I won't be heartbroken if it isn't in there, and it might just be for the best.

I would just say I really hope that 2k Marin is keeping Bioshock an intellectual game with some real substance and deep ideas and not just a game where you can shoot monsters and evil commies.

Right there with you. Unless they are holding some stuff up their sleeves for the later stages of the hype fest, we might just have another Halo on our hands...

NAZI ZOMBIES IN COD 5!?!!?! thats three things taken from other games! fear-re-cod 5

why not use some stuff from idk....nba 2009?! man---

if any of this is true---ugh i cant even think it! and if there is coop it better not suck--like RE5 coop....just down right awful--

To be honest I wont believe anything now tell the mag comes out.

I hope 1/2 of this isnt true.
Some of it isn't so bad.
No BDs?
BS replacing them, but I thought there was only 1
No coop or multiplayer please.
The squid and dogs just blah.
Soviets make some sense cause Ryan was Russian.
Plasmids are ok. Could lead to more stealth.
