Scaling

I hope the map is enormous. Can't really ascertain how big it is from this handmade map since there is no scaling to judge by.

If I remember correctly, the map will be twice as large the city portion of Mafia I. That sounds pretty good to me when you consider Mafia II will have little to no countryside.

As far as the countryside in Mafia I, I believe it made up 25%-50% of the total land area - not positive. It's hard to tell because the map on screen didn't display it all (only showed "out of range" when you reached the edge).

As far as comparing it to GTA, for some reason GTA's scaling/measurements always seemed off (i.e. NOT realistic), especially when you compare it to Mafia I. Speeds and measurements seemed accurate and realistic in Mafia I.

Just to make sure nobody takes this map for real .. it's just speculation as the homepage says.

"Die oben abgebildete Spielkarte ist bislang nur eine Vermutung, und anhand der bisherigen Informationen grob konstruiert.", poorly translated - the pictured map is just speculation so far, it's been designed just by mind according to former news.
