[ Tip ] Get Advanced Techs Quickly

If you notice, when you enter a goody hut you'll pretty much always get a technology, so what you should do is save before you get the hut, let the current technology you are researching complete ti's researching, then select the tech that says it'll take the MOST number of turns to complete. Now get the goody hut and you'll learn that technology, and that'll mean you'll pretty much get the tech of your choice. You should and can do the same with Great Scientists - use them to further your techs by changing to the most breaker demanding tech before using them.

This is how I learnt Atomic Theory even though it would have taken me 30+ turns otherwise... It's a great way to get to the space age as well

Yes, that trick works, but depends on what Civilization you use. I only have the demo, but I found that the Egyptions will learn the new tech, or get settlers. But the Romans will get most of the time a caravan.

I'd suggest settling the great engineers rather than using them to be honest. I find that to be more beneficial.

As for Romans getting a caravan, I've always found that whatever civ I use, if I find a hut it'll contain a tech and nothing else.

Yeah Settling them is much more beneficial but I was playing my new favorite game, kidnaping great people. I had so many I could not settle them anymore.

Yeah I'm still finding myself not kidnapping them, instead just taking over their cities... but I guess I should have done that when I played as the English and couldn't make a big dent on the Russians.

Do you think that Hut rewards culd be based on how you play? Because I almost never get tech and get caravans way too much. Perhaps it rewards you with something to help out where you are doing the worst? Or best?

Try using the Egyptions, rather then the Romans and see how differnt it plays. I aswell only have the demo (PS3).

I find the Egyptions have a better advantage in the demo, other then almost being seculeded in your region, because of the Greeks. I can almost descover everything with the Egyptions, not with the Romans. But that's just the demo restrictions I guess.

I always seem to get spies with nearly every civ. The exception was India where I got settlers, lots of them. I've never got one outside of that game.
