Mafia Characters

I tried to translate it, but I can’t speak(write) english well, so exuse all mistakes, that has been written.
I think, that all informations have been already known and they are just transformed in a different way.
Here they are(or it is):

Vito Scaletta
Vito is a very compicated person. His parents emigrated from Sicily to america’s Empire City with vision of better life, but it’s true, that Vito’s father had definately never become a rich mobster. Vito grew up in poor remote part of city and he wasn’t far from do some robberies with other „little rotters“. One of them was Joe - Vito’s best fella. One day they did the bank (i don’t know if it’s right – with the meaning of break the bank), but it didn’t came of – Joe hardly ran away, but Vito was arrested. „Thanks of God“ there was wartime in Evrope, so Vito was taken there instead of being prisoner. After war‘s end Vito come back and Joe, which has already read up the Empire’s underworld, is starting initiating him into it. Vito, which has always wanted to finish his poverty, now doesn’t mind his gangster’s life.

DeLuca
The talkactive lover of steaks with (gnarled) funny bone. There is respect comming out from him even when he is telling his joke (known from trailer). He seems to be likable and more friendly than Saliery from the first Mafia. Maybe it‘s because of his younger age.

Joe Barbaro
Vito is rather calm and he is virtually moved by terms, but Joe is a real butch. He doesn’t worry about doing the bad things, even if it’s ridding of someone. Besides he would probably be a great droppy-drawers and a pubber. In Mafia II’s story he plays as important role as Vito – we just won‘t control his character.

Henry Tomasino
Henry is the oldest man and the most experienced man from out three heros. In contrast of Vito and Joe he’s already become „legal“ and reputable member of the family, that is called a mademan. We don’t actually know why the man like Henry could get on together with small potatoes like Vito and Joe, but GamesRadar’s indicated that Henry could grew up with them, which is very possible.

Eddie
We know the second officially named character from trailer – it’s Eddie. What can we except from him. We quess he’s a cold and sarcastic self-possessed man, which doesn’t fly to anything but when it is necessary he shows that he‘s reliable.

Mike Bruski
Mike Bruski is one of Joe’s contacts. At first look he seems to be orderly car-mechanic, but behind the door of his garrage, there is flourishing illicit trade of stolen cars. And we will be supplying them. Hmmm!

Frankie
We hasn’t seen this poorman yet, but we know, that he didn’t smell good. Why did he die and who was he, that is the question.

A Gun-subdealer
We quess that he used to be a member of Musoliny’s army which lost his eye in there and brought a german truck full of ammunicion and machine guns MG42… His cellar store reminds the Yellow Petes’s one and he gets a good pay for selling his metal pets.

A Fet Man
A fet man laying on the floor – the scene, that’s been going with us since The Games Convention’s presentation of Mafia II. He’s the only person, that you can see as in the trailer as at known screenshots. Is he so important or developers dont’t want to show us another sceens. And is it so important when we know that Vito and Joe will kill him?

Thanks for this translation. At least we finally know what was the crime that Vito was sent to jail/war for.

I was also surprised that "foreign fans" are interested in czech pages - I mean that if I'm trying to get some info from other webs i'm really confused by it's language which is usually a big problem for me. Except the english(that is a smaller one).

I really like your pages guys - www.mafiagame.cz, every day i'm waiting there for some informations. And every day even there is no more infos I have to stay there for a second. Thanks for them.

It's really odd having a lack of English articles because I'm used to it, which also makes it hard to get a proper understanding of some details.

Weapons

to Just-Whetever

I think only weapons there will be for sure are those from screenshots, but I also think, that there will be most of classics from original Mafia and guns known in 40th and 50th.

Text translated from www.mafiagame.cz

These gun will be there for sure:

* Colt 1911 - the clasic from the first Mafia. We're not surprised. It's a thankful gun!
* Thompson M1928 - other classic. The right gangster = gangster with „tommygun“.
* MP40 - this german automatic is relly known, but it is a new think in Mafia II.
* USM3 - so-called oilcan, legend from 2nd world war and from Vietnam that has already been processed one time also by illusionsoftworks (eh excuse me, 2K Czech) and Pterodon as the Vietcong.
* MG42 - a gun from the gun/subdealer's screen. My first reaction when i found this gun in Mafia II was WHAT A ..... DUCK
* Remington 870 - and othe war classic. Mafia II is based on real stuffna reáliích dává záležet.
* S&W M10 Revolver -one of the most typical american revolver will be here again for sure.
* Baseball bat

What could be there:
* Lupara – we think that it will be in Mafia II, but we haven't seen it yet in any screenshot or any video.
* M1918 BAR – it was used by Bonnie and Clyde so why not. And it could be funny.
* M1 Garand – symbol of american army in 2nd world war.
* Granáty – this don't need a commentary.

What won't be there for sure
* AK-47 – it's true that it already existed, but it wasn't so known. We don't except it there.
* M-16 – M-16 is beyond period like this. Closely, but beyond :-).
* Combintion of Desert Eagle and machine gun – if you wait for this find some GTA fanpages. This is not the right thing for Mafia :-).

I'm sorry for mistakes again.

Has anyone seen an interview (czech level) with Daniel Vavra or read about it?

They asked him how many and what guns there will be in Mafia II.
He answered that he hadn't really understand meaning of questions like How many guns would be there and what are the diferences between them and guns in other games. He said that people could expect as typical gun of this known era as they could expect M16 in Vietnam games for sure, so he didn't know how many there would be in Mafia II.

He mentioned that guns were placed in game rather by a situation. There are also some specialities Dan revealed and also said that he didn't need to say: "We have some super mega gun in there that has never been anywhere."

Then he started to talk about other guns in the game. That you don't have to use only firing ones, but also kicks, bangs and an interactive world (mean you can take a chair, smash it and use it's leg / am I saying it right - leg of chair?/ to hit someone or throw it)

Thanks for the translation Sedlbob.

Magnum is coming in the game too. See the wallpaper, Vito have one in his hand.

Also see this screenshot below, it's hanging on the wall below the gasmasks.

And some Colt 1911 at the desk.

I would say that the revolver hanging on the wall is the one I've described in the article as S&W M10 :-).
