In the Bioshock.ini file I discovered the following values:
[WinDrv.WindowsClient] TextureDetailInterface=Normal TextureDetailTerrain=Normal TextureDetailWeaponSkin=Normal TextureDetailPlayerSkin=Normal TextureDetailWorld=Normal TextureDetailRenderMap=Normal TextureDetailLightmap=Normal I run the game at maximum details (ingame setting), so my question is: why do these settings remain at Normal? I manually changed them to "High" but after exiting the game they are set back. Are better values DX10-exklusive? My [Engine.RenderConfig] values are: HDRSceneExpBias=-3 MaxSkeletalProjectorsPerActor=6 OffsetSkeletalProjectorRearFrustrumPlane=10.000000 UseSoftwareAntiAliasing=True EdgeDetectCutoff=0.002000 EdgeBlurSize=0.500000 StreamingVisibleWeight=10.000000 StreamingDiffuseWeight=4.000000 StreamingBSPWeight=1.000000 StreamingEmissiveWeight=7.000000 StreamingLightmapWeight=5.000000 StreamingNormalmapWeight=1.000000 StreamingDynamicLoadedWeight=10.000000 StreamingDistanceScale=1000.000000 HighDetailShaders=True Shadows=True RealTimeReflection=True PostProcessing=True HardwareOcclusion=True UseRippleSystem=True UseHighDetailSoftParticles=True UseSpecCubeMap=True UseDistortion=True ForceGlobalLighting=False CascadingWaterSimulationVelocity=10.000000 UseHighDetailPostProcEffects=True UseMultithreading=True DisableExtraAntiPortalClip=True TextureDetail=High FluidSurfaceDetail=High DynamicShadowDetail=Medium Do I play with medium details without even knowing it? |

Try changing them and see the different. But you MUST back up as if you change something and the game dosn't load, i found you couldn't just go and cahnge the settings back, you have to re install. But if make a copy of the original file, you can deleat the altereed one and put the original back in.

Ok i changed the figures, but for some reason with Bioshock is you can't edit any ini files. When you go to launch Bioshock you get an error report. So...

Well, for me, it work's but I can't see any difference. And the values are set back when I open the file after exiting the game.
