Exclamation New Civilization Revolution Content: Single Player Packs -- Coming October 9th

On Thursday, October 9th we'll be releasing the first round of our new content for Civilization Revolution. Both of packs will bring new experiences to single-player mode, and will be available worldwide on the Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3 in North America, with the content coming to PlayStation in Europe on October 23rd.

FREE SINGLE PLAYER MAP PACK: BRAVE NEW WORLDS

The Brave New Worlds single player map pack includes four all-new maps for Civilization Revolution players to conquer. "Mazeworld" is covered by mountains, making your global expansion all the more tricky. "Chokepoint" is aptly named for its unique terrain structure that forces you to fight for the dominant positions on the map. "Donutworld" has a special donut shape to it (hence its name), and "Checkerboard," a map consisting of similarly sized islands peppered throughout the world.

These four new single player maps are completely free for all players.

SCENARIO PACK: THE VICTORY PACK

The Victory Pack includes three new scenarios for gamers to tackle in single player mode. They include "Enlightenment" where players show off their civilization's grandeur as they vie for a cultural victory, "Hyper Drive," a high-speed space race, and "Gold Rush" where amassing money fast will win the game.

The Victory Pack is available on Xbox Live for 100 MS Points, and on the PlayStation Network for $1.25 US, 0,99 EURO, 0,69 POUNDS, or 1,75 AUS $.

NOTE:
This entry has been changed as of October 13th to reflect the date change of when this content goes live on the PS3 in Europe. Unfortunately, there was an error in the pipeline with getting this content on the PlayStation Network, and at this time the soonest SCEE will be able to put this stuff up is October 23rd. I’m very sorry that you guys on the PS3 in Europe will have to wait a couple more days for the new packs and we will continue to work with Sony to avoid these kinds of errors with our future add-on content.

This has been previously addressed for those that have them through the gift with purchase: The wonder/artifact packs are for Single Player games only, as per your assessment that playing online with them would be unbalanced if only one person had them or had experience with them.

Using the store is quite easy. As long as you're signed in to the network, you'll be able to get to the store. The store is supposed to get updated on Thursdays, so if you look on Friday you'll see all the new content.

When you've got the store up, on the left side will be a number of buttons for different categories. From memory, the top button says either Featured or Latest. Select that and hit X to bring up the latest downloads. On the right you'll see a 5x4 grid of items. You can move between them, but the CivRev icon should be easy enough to see. When the item is selected, you should see a summary in the top-left corner of the screen, which will tell you the item name, release date, and price.

If you don't see a price, it can mean one of two things. Most commonly it means that the item is free and that you can download it immediately. To do this, hit X and you'll see some more detailed information about the download. On this screen will be a download button that you can hit.

The alternative is that the item in the Latest/Features screen is a category, in which case you'll now be shown a new set of items. Each of these items will be a single download, so follow the same instructions as above.

In any case, unless an item has a price against it, you can download it for free. The map pack will be like this. The scenario pack will list a price, so you'll need to add funds to your wallet before you can get it.
