I will start with dombeh: I think this slide was about different methods they use to spawn and despawn cars. As you can see on the picture, red dots represent cars that need to be spawned and visible for player at current time. in general they also mentioned some basic things you need to understand - you dont have to spawn cars that are behind players car, because he cant see them. Also, there is some kind of line, which is called despawn line and the faster you go, the faster will cars despawn behind you. Last edited by JCik68 : 6 Days Ago at 02:07 PM. |

But if nothing is spawned what is behind me, and when I would watch in one way standing on a street, no car would pass me from behind.

of course, they use different algorithms. if i remember it correctly, this one was used when you are driving a car and you are going fast, which means that you are faster than ordinary cars.
if you are just standing or going very slow, they use different method |

What? I do not think that is exactly true. If it is like you say it is, then if we drive past a car (in a faster speed like you said) then it despawns when we're infront of it. Now what if we decide to look backwards while driving, then we might not see the same car, because another one will have to spawn again if the previous car despawned, right? Or have I misunderstood the egg?

well, car wont be instantly despawned. there is some kind of despawn line (I mentioned it in first post), but it isnt exactly at same position as car - there is some distance between car and line, like in real world you can see cars only to certain distance.
Lecture wasnt that thorough, they just mentioned some basic methods with pictures - "how we did it", but you can be sure they took care of details and possible problems in game. |
