i agree, because the cats have double the force, and just bring in like 2 defensive armies, and your set.

So you still can't understand how it works.
HGB, if you were right, you should have won much more games, I think. |

I was playing a game as Americans using Mort's no barracks for America strategy and his Legion strategy. When I attacked a city with 10 legion Armies and an Archer Army I did take the city, but at heavy loses. I lost 5 Legion armies to defeat 2 Archer armies, I also had to clean up an individual archer & two hor☺☺☺☺☺. I needed to even send in my archer Army to finish the victory. I had already swithched to Catapult Armies, and attacked the next city with those and only lost 1 catapult army against a similarily defended city. |

i do all my by carrying my units on a naval unit, i dont like the land thing with knights... they can obvisouly see it, and they have atleast some turns to react, as well as completling the tech with a great scientist, i dont like to give clues im going to kill them... unless its like super early i wont. but i like catapults the most, they can even get them when they have pikemen, and if i have cruisers maybe even riflemen. |

You are right Catapult armies can beat a pikeman armies defending a city, Legion Armies will get quickly destroyed and allow your oppenet to get a whole lot of upgrades in the process. I like using vetern units too, but in a seperate thread Morte & a whole lot of other people told me With Americans building a barracks is a total waste of time, so I was putting their theory to the test.
I also like the naval idea |

scientists, you save lots of turns on expanding..and etc.. leaders arent bad, i always want one, that would mean my pikemen can destroy tanks now.. or my catapults riflemen. but i dont play much as americans.. im more of a french/indian player the 2 last civs that no one would bother using.. |

i used to be like you, i would try to argue one point, and like 5 ppl would disagree..Morte being the head of the pack!!! not like i said France is the best lol but.. quantity has been the tradition of the americans for many years now.. there 1/3 rush cost effect is super powerful... for every orange you get the americans get 3, imagine that with any unit!!!! |

I like quality because your not continually losing armies to overwhelm a city. take the game I've been discussing I lost 5 legion armies to defeat 2 archer armies. Your much better off if you still had some of those armies to attack the next city.
I usually play longer games that involve Tanks, Artillery, Planes & modern ships. Most people here think your doing something wrong if you game lasts until you can research artillery. You should have won quicker is the typical response. |
