Shrek 3

Just finished watching it, and I must say it's pretty good, certainly better than the other threequels this year (I'm looking at you, Spiderman. You too, PotC). It had some good laughs and a descent story, but when I spent most of my time marveling at the effects (which were top notch; Puss and Donkey's wet fur is really well done, as was the colour blending in the credits) I felt it lacked a little something. Probably that the story could have done with a few twists, it pretty much followed the standard Shrek formula. There wasn't anything I didn't see coming.

Pros:
Great animation and effects. If you know they do this sort of thing technically, you'll see some incredible achievements.
Great casting, especially watch for Eric Idle as Merlin. :)

Cons:
Formulaic. Doesn't really bring anything new to the table.
Nothing after the credits.

Overall:

I give it a 7.0 it is just the same old again and it is getting boring because of that imho.

I got bored while watching it... :( Yeah, there were a few good moments but it's not a really good movie. And IMHO PoTC 3 is better. :p But I've gotta agree, Spiderman 3 is just crap, just like the other two movies... I don't understand what people like about them... :confused:

Pretty terrible, not a single bust-gutting laugh unlike the first two. Yeah, I chuckled here and there but they really ran it into the ground.

If you want a good three-quel, check out Oceans' Thirteen, which is a lot better then the second one (although the sequel wasn't that bad). It's been a pretty disappointing summer for triolgies but this one stands out.
