why did only ONE guy in the entire game get drilled by a big daddy?

The only guy in the entire game that got drilled was the guy in the very beginning - of corse suchong apparently did too, but we never saw it. I mean you make a thing with a huge freakin drill on its arm - the least it could do is drill a splicer every once in a while or even when its really close to you, engage an in-game cutscene where it trys to drill you in the hand or stomach like in that trailer from 06.

Anyone agree? That would make them so much scarier.

They should use the drills more, maybe if it gets you - one hit kill. And if you dodge it - it gets stuck allowing you to get away/around it, sorta thing.

Processor power? WHAT?! Are you freaking kididng me? It would be an animation just like the millions of other animations in the game, just like the gears Chainsaw, it wouldn't require any more process power than smacking them around.

Ever thought of the attack itself. It would be a instant kill weapon that would spray blood EVERYWHERE. It would have to put a straight hole right through your body. Try predicting where the blood effects would go when theres multiple droplets spraying here. There. Your neighbors house.

Spraying blood is a simple particle effect it's really not all that difficult. Where the blood would go? Dude it's just the same blood effect as the rest of the game. You seriously have no idea what you're talking about, and what do you mean "ever thought of the attack itself"? Have you ever thought of an ILLUSION? Yeah, when someone gets drilled in a game, the processor doesn't have to think "what would happen if someone really got drilled" it just has to think "what effect did the developers want this to have?". It would be no more complex, than say when a big daddy summons a little sister.

Besides, it's already been done. The BD drills somebody, so all the effects are in already. Gear's of war had a similar effect with the chainsaw and they didn't suffer from it. It isn't that hard on the hardware these days.

Yeah but the game and the current hardware specs it is made for can handle it. Besides, there is one scripted incidence of the attack. True, the first person perspective would require more particles do to the perspective, but the game has amaxing water effects already. This engine, and the hardware, can handle it. They did it GoW, and they basically have it built into BioShock. The water was a major thing about it's graphics, so don't say it isn't optimized to deal with it.

I got drilled once. I threw a grenade at some splicers and by a mistake it hit the Big Daddy. He was somewhat close to me, I turned away from him and soon a drill was sticking out of my belly.

And no, this ain't a joke. This came unexpected, otherwise I would have a screenshot.

But I don't how this gets executed, gotta try again later.

Also, GMod doesn't have a bloody thing to do with the Unreal engine, so I haven't a clue why that was brought up.
