View Full Version : Proof that Securom is in the demo (not what you think)

Hi there,
I got the Fileplanet Demo which is supposed to have no securom content. Well, thatīs not true, but Securom is not "installed" on my pc. I have no folder securom folder, no registry entries that were posted here etc.
However, thereīs a nice little file in the Bioshock folder. Meet Paul.

funny, isnīt it? At least part of the Securom code ships with the demo, though seemingly it doesnīt cry out loud if it cannot embed itself into the system when the demo is run (as opposed to the full version).
Maybe everybody who didnīt "catch" the Securom infection from the demo had some protective tools running.

It is there, though.

the demo I have installed it, and even if I right click the game shortcut it even has and lets me run the "Launch Analysis" option :P

Something about a Sony developed security product being used for a Microsoft exclusive title just doesn't really make sense to me.

well, decided to run it anyhow, get this afterwards:

If it was not fully implemented, you would not be able to run analysis as it would not need to run for 1, and also, you would not be able to send any file to srom and have tem tell you securom is working fine.

why my computer crashes/blow up because of securom, then im gonna cry. and until then, im gonna keep playing the best game i've ever played..

aye :) I am still playing the demo, no biggie, will eventually get the game, gotta save the cash as I have more important bills currently :(
