Missing sounds

I downloaded Bioshock from Steam. I noticed when I first played it that in the elevator at the beginning, going down into Rapture, the voice of Ryan is absent in the video. When I played the demo earlier his voice was there.

Any solution to this? I don't want to go through the game not knowing if there are other sounds missing as well. :(

Oh yeah, I use Windows XP, soundcard is some onboard Realtek stuff..
