I'm a bit dissapointed and sad about it but if this delay is needed to make the game run better on my PC and to polish the gameplay, then so be it.
But now I think we deserve the Big Daddy hunt video to ease our pain! ;)

Delay? Delayed from what? I never really listen to dates like "Summer 07" as it is.
So if it's August 21st in the US, will it be the Friday the 24th in the UK et al?As most titles in the UK are released on a Friday.

Elizabeth said a weeks earlier that the game is coming out in June. ;) She also said it will be released at the same time in the US and in Europe too for both platforms. I don't think this has changed.

hmm... now i can wait for cheaper hardware ;) if 2k will delay the game a little more, they can show it at the games convention in germany^^

July would have been ideal for me (I'm away for most of June, and then moving to another country in September), but if the game benefits, then I hope they take as long as they need. :(

I welcome this decision, since I've time in August during my Summer vacation. Let's just hope Take 2 doesn't die (hear always the bad news about their financial status?) before Bioshock gets released.

It's an amazing date, by the way. I don't know whether 2K or Microsoft is responsible for deciding these things, but generally Europe gets screwed with release dates, so this is refreshingly close to the US release. That said, 360 games have generally been that way. Which is nice.

I just told a friend yesterday, I kid you not, that Bioshock would not come out before the end of August. Ken has been talking a lot about the crunchiness of his work right now. From what has been released about the game, and from the ambition of the project, it just didn't seem that June was a realistic target. Anyway, as several have already mentioned, it is good to see 2KGames giving Irrational a couple extra months. Take your time, I say.

June/August not that big of a deal. I'd rather they take their time. Maybe give us a timed playable demo though? Hmmm??

Damn, was looking forward to it over the summer; same with HL2: E2 and then that got delayed too. Well, I hope "The Darkness" still comes out in may, think that's the release date.
But I welcome the time to make a better game, Irrational has impressed me so much already. Still though, some extras such as artwork or concept movies, etc. would be cool as unlock ables on the final product, considering you guys are not having a special edition.

Why the 2 + month delay(nearly 3 month...) ? :( If its for DX10,I will be a very happy camper !!
EDIT: I just thought of something,I will be back in Uni classses by then,as Reg Nursing starts a few weeks earlier then most courses :( .... I wont have time to play the darn game :( :(

Don't sweat it, guys. You should not be surprised at all. I said it back in December at TTLG forums that I don't believe they'll make it in 6 months (that is Alpha to Gold). In fact, I don't quite believe they'll make it for 2007 at all, but that's just my guess. Delays are good thing, everybody hates them but they're good thing. Really. I'm dead serious. No, really, honest. :)
Besides, hey, stalker just gone gold! There actually IS a reason to celebrate.

Oh no they are turning into valve.Valve's games are late, yes, but they're polished to perfection. They've managed to avoid the temptation of rushing a buggy product and patching it through Steam (I don't know how, but I'm glad it's the case).
Just pray that Irrational doesn't turn into 3D Realms.

maybe the games are polished to perfection, but valve shouldn't re-announce all their projects five times before they release it... it's been always the same: hl2 was delayed, episode 1 was delayed and episode 2? well, i think it'll be released next year :P

Generally I agree with your comments(plus DX10) All the same,I dont think this is the last announced 'delay'....I just hope they dont pull a Epic/Mark "I'm a greedy bastard,I could care less about the community" Rien,and decide they need to grab a share of the PS3 market as well. :( I do not think they will,but....
