Close AVG, then install.

AVG has been finding lots of false positives lately. If AVG is stopping you installing, just disable it.

AVG sucks. The best free antivirus is Avira AntiVir.

I've submitted the file to grisoft, when you get a false positive with it you can send it to "Virus@grisoft.com" (zip it first so it can pass the no-exe file filters most mail daemons have) and they will check it out and add it to a whitelist
I think it has something to do with the heuristics in AVG.
if it's really bugging you and you can't wait for a fix, pm me and I'll tell you how to temporarily disable the resident shield.

I'll tell you guys how right here:
-Go to www.free-av.com and download Avira
-Go to start - settings - control panel
-Double click add/remove programs
-Find AVG and uninstall it
-Reboot
-Install Avira

the real answer is to stop the hidden driver/service in the device manager (you have to do View->Show Hidden Devices, it's under "Non-Plug and Play devices")

AVG isn't finding a false positive. AVG is just doing it's job. Bioshock comes with Securom copy protection which, by all accounts, fits the definition of a trojan horse.
People should be more worried about virus scanners that aren't picking up Securom.

Thats is accurate to my knowledge. Securom obtains rights beyond the admin level and refuses to be uninstalled (At least it has done that in the past).
It is a trojan by definition. I guess 2k games didnt feel the users had a right to know that little tidbit of info before they bought the game.

Nor did they feel the users had the right to remove the software when they DO know.
