After wrestling for hours with the bug that doesn't enable you to get past the bioshock logo (after the plane cutscene) I finally used the -dx9 command prompt fix to get the game running.
The problem now is my graphics are incredibly glitchy no matter what I do with settings. resolution, vsync, and all those bells and whistles don't seem to do anything (and as said, i don't even consider dx10 an option). whenever there is any sort of water effect (bubbles, water on the character's vision in the opening) there are neon green blocks floating in the bubbles that I can't seem to get rid of. also, some of the lighting and fog effects only render on some parts of the screen (there's just a square in the middle of my screen where there's no fog) and they tear really badly.
Here are my specs:
Toshiba Satellite x205-29359 laptop
vista 32-bit ultimate
core 2 duo 2ghz
2gb ram
nvidia geforce 8700m GT 512mb
my vid card should technically be supported by the game since it's an 8-series card, but since its a laptop card it doesn't support the bioshock drivers. should i give the modded drivers a shot?
